Hugh Jackman Teases X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Conflict With Michael Fassbender's Magneto

Hugh Jackman briefly discusses X-Men: Days of Future Past, acknowledging that the public may think it's a reaction to Marvel's The Avengers. Jackman also teases a 70's conflict with Michael Fassbender's Magneto.

Days of Future Past X-Men Hugh Jackman

At TIFF to promote his new film Prisoners actor Hugh Jackman also discussed the upcoming, Bryan Singer directed X-Men:Days of Future Past. The film combines the younger cast from X-Men: First Class and the original X-Men team, which some may see as a blatant attempt to ripoff the group dynamic of Marvel's The Avengers. Jackman addressed that public perception, "I think some people are saying, “Ah, this just sounds like an excuse to get all these actors together and make an Avengers-style movie,” but the truth is that it’s a great script and Bryan is very ambitious to make the best movie of them all. He’s got the biggest cast, the biggest budget, and he started it all, so it’s his legacy. He’s a fan of time-travel movies, and the detail that’s gone into it is incredible. I’m quietly confident that it will be the biggest and the best of them all. When I sat there on that panel at Comic-Con, and looked down at all the actors, you think, “This might be one of the best ensembles ever assembled”… Apart from Movie 43. [Laughs]"

And while Jackman's Wolverine definitely isn't a fan of Ian McKellen's Magneto, how will he react with the younger Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender? "It’s fair to say we don’t get on that well," said Jackman. He continued, " I get sent back to the past and he has no idea who I am, but you can imagine Wolverine has a bit of fun with that."

It'll be good. I'm looming forward to any CBM. Complain if you want, but this year, with the exception of CBM's, the movies have been horrible for the most part. I couldn't have seen a movie for the last few weeks be ause there's nothing good out there.

Not hating on Avengers but if this is as good as it looks, this could be better than Avengers.

Until AOU comes out and its better than DOFP.

Days of Future Past takes place ten years after Magneto and Xavier approached him, he didn't join the team so I dont see why he would even remember him.

I really want to trust Bryan Singer but I just can't after Superman Returns and Jack the Giant Slayer. The first two X-Men were great and First Class was awesome, I just hope DOFP will be good and won't turn into a Wolverine movie. I don't like the fact that they casted Quicksilver, it's so obvious that they just wanted to piss off Marvel.

Oh and, if people have indeed been saying it, the notion that X-Men is trying to ripoff Avengers is flat out stupid. X-Men has always been a team. It's even right there in the name. 'Men.' [frick]'s sake.

As far as story telling I think first class was a little bit better than avengers.... Avengers was plan and simple Loki leads an alien invasion.

The one thing x-men was missing that Avengers had, was the fun factor!!!!
If Bryan singer can get the fun factor down and let the movie being more enjoyable(mutant action scene that go all out and not restricted due to its budget) then this could be the biggest movie of 2014. Personally I want GotG to be the biggest but we'll see.
Singer just better not screw up the story
