While doing press for The Woman In Black, Jane Goldman spoke with Bleeding Cool about the film as well as some of her upcoming projects. After talking about The Woman In Black, she was asked on the side about her involvement with the First Class sequel.
I’m working on two different American studio projects now, neither of which has really been officially announced yet, but one of which has sort of been talked about online, but the other hasn’t… the Tim Burton is one of them, yeah.
I’ve spoken recently about Kick-Ass 2 so everything I have to say about that is already online but X-Men… yeah, I probably can’t say anything about that but there will definitely be one. I’m honestly not involved… Simon Kinberg is writing a draft right now.
Since Vaughn was just recently announced to return, nobody is sure how much, if any, work Kinberg and Vaughn have put in together. No word as of yet either if Vaughn will take the script and work on it, similar to what he and Goldman did on the first one. It was written, and then Vaughn and Goldman reworked it to fit more with Vaughn's overall plan.
The sequel appears to be on the fast-track, so if Goldman is going back to the
Xavier Institute, it will be happening pretty soon.
What do you think? Will it be a big mistake for the sequel to not include Goldman? Think she will come on board soon? Sound off below!
