Here are the X-Men: First Class relevant excerpts from a recent interview in UK newspaper, Metro. If you're interested in hearing even more from the actor about some his other projects, be sure to head on over to the site by clicking on the link below.

Your character didn’t seem to have any dialogue in X-Men: First Class.

He had a few lines – go back and have another look. Matthew Vaughn is my favourite film-maker in the whole world. We’re good buddies, so it’s good to have friends shouting at you on set rather than people you don’t know. He said: ‘Do this role in X-Men and get your wife pregnant and you’ve got the job done’ – and that’s exactly what happened.

January Jones’s performance was heavily criticised. What did you make of that?

The character she’s playing is exactly what she played. I was deeply flattered to be considered a possibility to be the father of her kid. I watched the first two series of Mad Men twice and I was like a 12-year-old on set. Matthew Vaughn said: ‘Wind your neck in because it’s embarrassing.’ I think she’s fantastic.

Starring James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme, Lucas Till as Havok, Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, Jason Flemyng as Azazel and Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggart, X-Men: First Class is out now!

I thought January Jones was good! exactly how I thought the character should be! And im sure Azazel will get more dialogue in the 2nd film. He kicked ass in the first!!!!

At least HE had a few lines. Riptide was basically a GQ model with mutant abilities. He never uttered a word! But he was always impeccably dressed.
As far as Azazel, he kicked ass. One of the best parts of the movie was watching him in action.

I think this interviewer must have mixed him up with Riptide, who did have literally NO lines. Azazel actually had quite a few.

Jason Flemyng has always been a good actor. I think he may return for the "Clash of the Titans" sequel next year.

Riptide had no dialogue lol.

@RorMachine, SelinaKyle

maybe the actor who played Riptide english was not that great at the time they filmed the movie. so thats why he did no speak in the movie.

january jones wasnt as bad as people say she was, i think she just took the 'cold and distant' characterisation a little too far.
And Azazel had a few lines, beside, does anyone want a chatty red guy slicing people up mercilessly using his mutant powers? (asks the guy with the Deadpool avatar...)

his action scenes were top notch.

but he didn't say much more than riptide but that wasn't hard.

january jones was nice to look at,but she was wooden as f*ck.

@Sparrowsabre7, that's exactly what I was saying! Then I remembered, oh, yeah, this is that First Class garbage, now EMMA FROST is Nightcrawler's Mother!!

worst.cbm.ever.

January Jones is having a baby and their was random rumors of different men been the father i.e. Jason Flemyng and even Matthew Vaughn.

I agree with Selina Kyle, loved how they showed him using his mutant abilities. Pretty ingenious if you ask me.

As this film will probably be greenlit for a sequel I am anticipating where his character is taken. Will we see Mystique and him have a secret affair without Magneto's consent? Thus, Nightcrawler is given away as a baby. Mystique can hide her baby bump with her powers so this could be an interesting story arc.

January Jones was awful as Emma. I don't mean to knock her as an actress. I'm sure she's amazing on Mad Men. That doesn't change her performance in this case.

one of my main problems with January performance is that most of the time she looked like she was bored to be there... that made the character to doesnt seem as interesting as Magneto, Shaw or Xavier.

In my mind, Emma should be really intelligent, arrogant and have a litte fun with her self, while still been cold.

Matthew direction only gave us a cold Emma with cool costumes. Nothing more. And thats really sad.

I think her character could be a really interesting, badass and sexy character all at the same time.

They just didnt get that.

Azazel didn't need to speak much. His actions spoke rather loudly. As for January Jones' performance...well lets just say there are two kinds of guys in the world. Straight guys and guys who noticed January Jones' acting while Emma Frost.

January was fine.

Cold and distant, but that's how I always perceived Frost's character anyway. She did good with what she had. Don't see what all the fuss is about really.

I thought January Jones was awesome. She was so hot and seductive I enjoyed each and every scene she was in. Azazel was a cool character but had the worst make-up job in comic-movie history.

Azazel was one of the better parts of the movie. You don't have to have a ton of dialouge to present the best performance in a movie.

It might have done a little more than X-Men in Box office, but the profitability of cbm's is more than just box office. Merchandising is huge.

Well he did say, "They fired on their own ship."

"NINE!" Nothing sir." ...and I think thats it.

But so what? He was the Darth Maul of the film, the Boba fett.

Meaning he didn't have to say a word to be bamf, and a great portion of the movie.

yeah riptide didnt say anything in the movie, and his power they only some what got right but wrong overall. sebastian shaws power they got right, but i didnt like how he was a german docter from way ww2. they only had 2 actual hellfire club memebers shaw and emma frost. and nightcrawlers dad has more powers in the comics besides teleportation. some of those mutants they had were pointless of being in the movie, i guess it wasnt that bad for what it was but still not great. the best part was wolverine in the bar
