Local X-Men: First Class Actor Confirms The Cuban Missile Crisis!

Coming from an outdated report, a local actor working on FOX's X-Men: First Class gets a bit spoilerific in detailing his new role in the mutated film. Check it Out!

Some days ago, the 13th on Monday to be exact, CLATL received an email from (name removed), whose apparently working on Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class as filming progresses on Jekyll Island, in Georgia. In that email, the actor gave an update from the set, also detailing his role in the film.

"Today I had lunch, got fitted for my outfit, and then I found out that the role I’m playing is entirely different than what I auditioned for — it’s even BIGGER. I am the Ship Captain of a 1960’s submarine (during the Cuban missile crisis). I shoot my scene at night on Wednesday evening. It is cold and windy — sand is kicking up all over the place. And, my ship will be taking on lots of water during my scene. I will be shouting to my crew to keep the ship from sinking."

The source, CLATL has removed the report, but of course nothing gets by us fanboys nowadays. Anyhow, filming for X-Men: First Class on Jekyll Island wraps in a few days. And I hear a plane crash was filmed as well, which could explain those set images. Anyhow, the film is set to be released on June 3, 2011. What do you think?

I remain cautiously optimistic for this movie.

I don't really care for the X-Men movies as much as I used to but I'll still watch it and maybe they will change my mind and like it like I used too.

I knew it all along. It was the major event of the Kennedy administration. Magneto's gonna get his hands on a few after they stop the Hellfire club. Just like his first appearance in the comic "Enter Magneto"!

It's funny how there seems to be a need to justify any glimpse of goodness about this movie.
Anticipation is in the toilet for me.
EPIC FAIL.

Like most of the users on this site, I hated the idea of FOX rebooting X-Men. But now i'm super excited for this movie.
Think of this not as a FOX movie, but as a Matthew Vaughn movie. Matt's not the sort of bloke who takes shit from studios
(that's why he made Kick-Ass independently rather than bend over to studio demands)

Plus I heard from a trusted source that the concept/premice for X-Men: First Class is fantastic, will surprise people & blow everyone away.

Wow, if thats the initial poster for this movie that is BAD ASS!! Wow...looks alot more serious than I would have thought. Kinda has a Casino Royale look to it. I'm gonna guess that maybe they tie a mutant into the crisis and other major history events involving X and Magneto somehow factor in which is how their storyline develops. (Thats how I'd write it anyway)

I'm not hating out of a trend. When you've endured two epic failures (x3, wolvie) you have the right to be negative. That's the least that I can do. Not caring about what people think of their crap is what got us there in the first place. They don't get a free pass from me.

@Starscream

You have the right to be negative, but, as a fan who was equally burned by the two lousy movies, I for one think it's pretty plain that they're trying to improve, especially after TDK and Iron Man proved that the way to make bank with a comic movie is to make it [frick]ing awesome. You don't hire Darren Aronofsky and Matthew Vaughn and then not let them make great movies. And Vaughn proved by leaving X3 that he's not interested in movie-making-by-committee.

So it may not have the characters we all want to see. I like X1 and 2, and frankly it's refreshing to see a film series that, instead of re-booting, says, "No, let's just fix it" (Not to bash on all re-boots, as I'm also (cautiously) excited about the new Spider-Man, and so far most cbm reboots have been better than the original film/franchise). And McAvoy and Fassbender are both great actors, and the interaction between Xavier and Magneto is what X-Men is really all about.

Also, in a petty swipe based on your profile pic and name, I will inform you that, in my opinion and in the opinion of noted film experts, the bad X-Men movies are still better than either Transformers film.

@Doctordoom-- lolz. "Fist A$$," yeah whatevs. looking forward to this film. McAvoy could make anything watchable- even "Wanted!" Plus sounds like an interesting story.

i think this film is gonna be a pile of steaming shit at best.

@ lansdowne5

i thought that as well,i don't want it to,but i reckon you could be right.

the non comic book cinema going public know what too expect from an x-men film this could out gross thor, captain america & the green lantern.

the x-men are more of a household name than "thor","the green lantern" & maybe "captain america".

this movie isnt going to BOMB at the box office, simply because a lot of general audiences like the x-men, even though X3 and origins, personally thought were bad, my mates absolutely loved it, it will make a decent amount of money but i dont want it to out gross thor and the rest

Agreed mate. I don't like Fox much but at least they've hired a director that I admire. If Vaughn has 100% control on this film then it will wipe the floor with X3 and Wolverine.

Funny...
No matter how much people put it down...Im sure 98% of the ones calling it a pile of shit will still go see it in the theater.

The only movie i was convinced not to see in theaters was Skyline.....
and i still see people who called it a pile of shit go out and see it.

to each its own then....

this is my only conclusion. They are starting over with this franchise. I think we are missing the title. First class could mean the people who created the Brother Hood and the School. They are the founders, originators, and FIRST to stand up and fight for the rights of mutants good or bad. So in a way this could be a prequel and if done right the next will include cyclops ice-man jean grey they could lead up to something. Or maybe i'm just still trying to hope the comic book series that changed my life can still have a chance.

@ LEE, Hey now, don't forget Cap.

And in ll actuality i think this might be a decent movie. I think everyone heard the reports that after the extreme amount of money FOX made on Avatar they were going to start taking things more seriously. Arronofsky's The Wolverine sure sounds like it. Maybe this will be good too.

i'll admit it i hate fox, but i will watch this, simply because of the talent involved, the cast is pretty solid. my biggest problem is the title but oh well still find all these ideas intriguing

To any of the posters that have said, you talk bad about the movie but will go see it in the theaters. I say this as a promise I will not see this bull sh!t movie in theaters nor on the web or rent it when it comes to video. When it comes to bull sh!t movies like this I do not compromise. Fox could have done a rebooting of such and made a movie about the original characters but no they're pulling random name from a hat and using them so they don't lose the rights they just don't care about the source material. Yes Marvel has messed with the source material as well but not to the point that they totally f**ked it over.
