Quite cheesy like the Code name's scene

Loved the entire film except the last 12 seconds, that was pretty cheesey, he looked like a kick-ass villain in the costume, and the ending was too similar to the mother[frick]er ending in kick-ass. Also, don't like the thing on the front of the helmet, I know it's from the comic but it doesn't look good on screen.

Namor-Agreed. One of my favorite scenes from the movie!

Great film, shame about the opening weekend results:

X-Men: First Class - $56,000,000
The Hangover 2 - $32,445,000
Kung Fu Panda 2 - $24,300,000
Pirates of the Caribbean 4 - $18,010,000

The movie is suffering from similar confusion The Incredible Hulk had. People thought T.I.Hulk was a sequel to the John Woo movie that bored the hell out of them so stayed away opening day. In this case they think this is a reboot with a new team so again, mixed attendance despite great reviews. If its lucky, good word of mouth might give it a rise during the week and a better 2nd weekend. Ain't over yet!

Yes the movie helmet looks exactly like the comics, but it doesn't look that good live for me. The purple is more fushia (pink) in colour. & I didn't like the suit.
Still, i'm not nitpicking... it doesn't take away from the movie for me in any way at all, just smthing that i didn't like the look of...
I mean, he changed the colour to match his costume, but why add the crest thingy? Just 2 say it looks like the comics?

Awesome scene, loved the ending. The cape looks a little lame though...

I thought this was a great movie, and I wasn't expecting much. January Jones RUINED Emma though :P

Helmet was fantastic, the coat's sleeves looked kinda weird, but Michael Fassbender was so awesome in this movie that none of that really mattered.

Pygmalion - 6/5/2011, 11:31 AM
So glad they fixed the helmet and dropped the stupid half-cape. I liked the helmet but the rest of his outfit was too close to the costume from the film rather than the books. Once he wore that outfit, he lost about 12 notches of intimidation and general badas$ness.

Pygmalion - 6/5/2011, 11:38 AM
And yeah, it was the cheesiest scene in the movie and the only scene that I was not totally sold on Fassbender.
@Julez - I would recommend it even though it pays more tribute to the previous films than it does the books (not that that surprises anyone) but I was very surprised by it. It's worth seeing just for Xavier and Erik alone. This clip is possibly the worst scene in the whole film - similar to the Vader "NOOOOOOOO" scene at the end of Ep.III is possibly the worst in the entire SW franchise :P

it was pretty laughable in the theater, and it's really not any better here.

Speak for yourself you trolling bastard! lol

I didn't hear anyone laughing in the theater the two times i saw it. More gasps than anything.

adamwham - 6/5/2011, 12:18 PM
so they try to stay with the comic books' costumes and type of dialogue and it's cheesy...pleasing fanboys is just not going to happen. you going to complain about everything. I loved this scene and i have to agree no one was laughing when I saw it.

I liked magneto aka James bond they mde the suit look not to advanced to stay with the period.

Peteyparker - 6/5/2011, 12:31 PM
@Adamwham yea becuz ppl still whine about Iron Man, Spider-man, Thor, and The Incredible Hulk looks.....? Dude there is a way to make a comic look without being cheesy something Smallville would know nothing about this (R.I.P. Welling's career). It's possible FOX will just never know how to do that.
DONNMARVEL

"I prefer.....Magneto"

Loved the movie, the Mags costume was pretty lame, but when I first saw it it hit pretty hard, I was like "holy sh1t that just happened" in a good way. Looking back on it it's weird that they would sacrifice quality/dignity in the movie to give a shout out to the comics when they clearly have not given a frick about the comics before.
GUNSMITH
GUNSMITH - 6/5/2011, 1:44 PM
THAT HELMET IS AWESOME, I AM HAPPY WITH WHAT THEY DID..THE ONE THING I WOULD CHANGE THOUGH IS THE SUIT. I WOULD PREFER BODY ARMOR AS OPPOSED TO JUST FABRIC..THE GUY CAN MOLD METAL WITH HIS MIND, BESIDES IT WOULD GIVE HIM A COMIC BOOK LOOK, SPECIALLY IF IT'S MUSCULAR-ED OUT.
