Twentieth Century Fox have released a new still from Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it features the older Magneto (played by Sir Ian McKellen) warding off an explosive attack in the future as he fights for survival. Hit the jump to check it out!

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The beloved characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class, in an epic battle that must change the past to save our future.



X-Men: Days of Future Past's huge all-star cast includes Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Cudmore, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Adan Canto, Anna Paquin, Evan Peters and Ellen Page, and is set to be released on May 23rd, 2014.

according to frodo singer,the sentinels are made from magnetized metal plates.

it makes sense if you think about it.

x-men first class-during the 60s magneto controls nuclear weapons almost starting world war 3.

x-men days of future past-set in the 70s they decide to start a sentinel program to control mutants that by the look of things from the trailer magneto takes control of.

then we come to the x-men trilogy were magneto is still a massive threat to mankind.

back to x-men days of future past-the future,the sentinels look like they have destroyed everything in their path,however they evolved so much from the 70s models that they are still made of magnetized metal plates & from the look of that poster,magneto still has the ability to destroy them.

they've got geniuses working on the sentinel program past & future.

so being called the master of magnetism means jack shit,you can't takeout sentinels because they're made of a substance that you can't control(magnetized metal plates)but takeout one of their spacecrafts which is more than likely made of metal.

The future sentinels can adapt. The Sentinels themselves have defenses against Magneto. Remember the one Iceman freezes? It adopts Sunspots powers and the one Colossus fights adapts his powers well and uses them against the mutants. That pic could be a sentinel spaceship or it could be the X-men jet, dunno for sure. Will find out next week.

That would actually be the Justice League; Days of Future Past comes third in what a comic book fan actually want to see adapted (second being Wonder Woman, which is amazing why it is taking this long to happen).
