Also you notice with Toad looking like that, this isn't the past to the X-Men universe Singer first created. This is an alternate past.

Marvelites are pretty funny: "pietro and wanda are not exatly like the comics, [frick] this movie" but when Marvel Studios butchered the mandarin they're like "Yeah whatever the mandarin it's not important, besides was a genius interpretation"...

It all comes down to a matter of taste and opinion. Not everyone think's Quicksilver looks like garbage. Some people liked The Mandarin, you just have to accept that.
