NEW MUTANTS Still Features The Team In Peril; Josh Boone Reveals Rating And Whether We're Getting Costumes

New Mutants was supposed to be released this year but Fox has pushed the movie back to 2019 which means we're going to be waiting even longer for the first X-Men/horror movie hybrid. The first teaser for the Josh Boone helmed release was very grounded in its approach and that's left fans wondering whether or not the young cast will end up donning their comic book counterpart's costumes.

Well, the answer is no according to Boone. "There are no costumes," he confirmed. "That alone makes it different. They can't be with the other kids at the X-Mansion. They're too f***ed up. They've all killed people, whether intentionally or unintentionally." That makes sense but is still a tad disappointing! After all, them ultimately becoming a superhero team would have been no bad thing.

As for New Mutants' rating, don't expect it to head down the R-Rated route of Deadpool and Logan. "This movie is probably the hardest PG-13 ever made," Boone teases. "I mean, we've pushed it. The horror is pretty dark, but there's also an emotional core, too. If I can scare you and make you cry: that's the goal." What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts on that down below.

@CAPTAINPINKEYE - A trailer description of the bridal comicon trailer confirms that Magic atleast has he armour arm (which forms like colossus; I think that is a nice connection between them) and he sword which burn wiht blue flame.

As for the costumes, I think for the CONTEXT of this film (which seems to have them all being held in a facility/hospital) it makes sense that they would have their comic costumes.

I suppose they could have done something like have the hospital/prisoner robes be yellow and black to resemble their classic costumes. But in all honesty for this film, I don't mind them not having their costumes.

Has he ever seen a fox-men film?
