Peter Dinklage's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Role Possibly Revealed

After news of Peter Dinklage's being cast as a villain in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past earlier this week, a new report may have confirmed which character the Game Of Thrones actor will be playing.

This week, we heard the exciting news that Peter Dinklage (Game Of Thrones, Elf) has joined the impressive ensemble cast of Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past in a key role. The next day, it was reported that the actor will be playing the sequel's main villain. Now, an anonymous source for MTV Geek reveals who exactly he's playing: Boliver Trask, inventor of the Sentinels. This would make sense, due to the Sentinels' inclusion in the film is all but confirmed. "First introduced in Uncanny X-Men #14 in 1965, the character was an inventor and anthropologist who was threatened by the increasing number of mutants popping up in society. So naturally, he did what any anthropologist would do, and created gigantic robots called Sentinels to protect humans and hunt down mutants. Trask eventually finds out that the X-Men aren't so bad and ends up sacrificing his own life to save the X-Men," says the site.

However, they do ask to take this report with a grain of salt, as it's possible that the source is inaccurate. Plus, Trask was already featured in the X-Men film universe in 2006's The Last Stand, where he was portrayed by Bill Duke (who looks very different from Dinklage, to say the least). Still, stay tuned to CBM for more news on the film as we have it.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Anna Paquin and Shawn Ashmore. The film is set to hit theaters July 18th, 2014.

Fox is trying to forget about X-Men: The Last Stand like the rest of us. Dinklage's Trask will be angry at the mutants because of his short-man complex. There's the motive.

may we hear trask muse of the lollipop guild? or will he slap every mutant on screen?

All honesty, I give kudos to Singer for: A.) Being Ballsy enough to cast Dinklage, who many would consider "wrong" for the role. and B.) Thinking outside the box and casting him.

Loved his (Dinklage) performance in Underdog.

Maybe the sentinel voice?

We saw him as an evil scientist already in Underdog, but since i'm trusting the filmmakers for him to have better dialogue, I'm alright with it.

monkeyballs3@ I think in the 70's parts of the movie, the sentinels will be the classic design, and then when they flash forward to the future, they could well be the more advanced, humanoid ones.

if true, I would be happy with the role choice.
Bolivar Trask is like a must in this story, so I hope he is palying him, instead of a random mutant or villain that doesnt belong to the Sentinels history

The only thing that should be reused from X-men the last stand is "Young Jean Grey"

^It's hard to watch Game of Thrones when you don't have HBO...

Anyway, Bill Duke played "Senator Trask", which was a bit of an easter egg, rather than a cameo. In the Last Stand, there was no secret automated response to mutants, it was just the cure and plastic weaponry to combat Magneto. For those who really paid attention AND are fans of the comics, this is all you really need to understand. For everyone else, no one cares.

SCOOP!

Peter Dinklage (underdog) has just been cast as Waste-of-space guy (Not to be confused with Whatever-man).

His task in XMEN: DAYS of FUTURE PAST, will be to shoe-horn himself into the film as an IT-GUY with 30 seconds of fame left. He will either play an obscure XMEN character, a completely new character or a popular one that he's grossly miscast for.

I still think he'll be Ahab the mutant hunter from the future who uses his mutant hounds to hunt them down and eventually follows Kitty Pryde back to the past...

@zemus

that actress looked really great around that age for a young jean.

but if they introduce teenager Scott and Jean on a future sequel, I think they should cast other actors, around 20 years old or so
