While making the promotional rounds for John Carter, actor Taylor Kitsch spoke briefly about Gambit and where he thinks the character needs to go if he is to return to the movie screen.

Kitsch does ultimately admit that he probably will not be portraying the character again but if he does get the call, he wants to do the role justice.

He did a job great as Gambit in Wolverine no matter how bad that movie was.

Oe of my favourite x-men characters..annoyed it took producers 4 movies to finally introduce him, only to have a few seconds screen time. Didn't think he was portrayed right either...hopefully in first class sequels??

Anytime any actor or producer or studio head has no idea what to say about how to improve a failed character or film, their answer is to make it "darker". Fail Taylor Kitsch.

LOL he sucked as Gambit and Champ6 was right if the character or movie didn't do well all they want to do is to make it darker or more serious or R rated -_- he doesn't even have the french accent.

He was ok when first introduced, but then his other scenes sucked. When he looked back at Wolvie near the end and said "Miss me" in an incredibly gay way I loled.

I really have no interest in a solo Gambit movie anyway.

He was great as Gambit. Looked and sounded the part. Kisch is charismatic and will have even more star power after John Carter. They should bring him back to the role with a good director, like Peter Berg, who knows how to do good action flicks. Base it in New Orleans.

Gambit is such a cool character, it is a shame he had so little screen time. I hope he gets his own movie, not necessarily with Kitch though.

Sorry but Kitsch has no charisma whatsoever. John Carter will flop b/c they picked him for the lead role. Tis a shame.

Just give the X-men to Marvel Studios and then we'll get a more proper portrayal of the characters and storylines.

Hes not a dark character. This just shows that he is giving the typical Hollywood response based off The Dark Knight's success. They think because of that movie, every superhero needs to be dark, and that's not the case.

I still say that now, before he's too old, I still say give the spin-off role to Josh Holloway.

Ryan Reynolds should play Gambit... he'd be perfect!
haha, I'm joking. But either way, Taylor's "Gambit" was laughable. If they do actually make a Gambit movie, Channing Tatum should play him.

First movie shouldve been First Class about Cyclops(Havok), Jean(Mystique), Beast, Iceman(Darwin), Angel(Banshee). Going up against Magneto. After defeating Magneto in the end, the team gets captured by a private army from the city of Genosha.

The second movie about Professor X forming a second team to rescue the first five. Storm, Wolverine, Banshee, Nightcrawler and Colossus. These mutants are well versed with their powers, problem is trying to work together. Villain is Mr. Sinister secretly experimenting on Genoshan inmates. First five quits in the end (Leaving behind a chance for X-Factor movie - Beast transformation/Archangel saga).

Third movie X-men goes up against Sentinels, Psylocke, Gambit, Rogue, Shadowcat join the team. Cyclops and Jean return. Magneto aids them in defeating the Sentinels. In the end Beast, Archangel and Iceman rejoin and form two teams.

X-Factor 2 is about Phoenix Saga and meeting Havok and Polaris. As well as Shi'ar and Starjammers.

A Gambit movie is a awesome idea but not really with this guy.We need a full on accent and a very Noir/Thriller/Action feel to it.Involve the two guilds and Gambit being a playboy theif.Make the audience aware of how much money Gambit has made over the years and his family dysfunction. But a Gambit movie would have to be thrilling and seductive and the acting i see alot of slow motion in 3D. But a Gambit movie would have to be perfectly scored in order to really bring it out. Alot of blues/cajun/ and bayou music. Heck let Gambit play a harmonica sometimes before something bad is about to go down give it a wild west feel as well.I envision the movie in black n white it just seems right

Gambit doesn't have to be dark. He needs to have swag, charm, and be shady. Wolverine: Origins got everything wrong.

Why do these fu cks from Xmen origins feel like they deserve to reprise their roles? Everyone was terrible in that movie except Liev Schreiber. Ryan Reynolds doesn't deserve to play deadpool, Hugh jackman needs to be separated from the Wolverine, etc etc

And Im with @redleaf! Gambit needs game! That was he's whole character, he was a hustler/player. Ladies man to the fullest and his fighting style matched his personality. He had swag. What they should have down was study. Study the Comics, 90's series and Marvel Vs Capcom came, for the fighting style. The game nailed it.
