THE WOLVERINE First Set Photos From Japan

James Mangold's The Wolverine has begun filming on location in Japan, and today Hugh Jackman was seen filming scenes at the Zojoji Temple in Tokyo, Japan. Hit the jump to check it out.

Eyewitnesses observed Hugh Jackman on set, but no clear shots of the star have surfaced just yet. Filming will continue til September 2 and the Buddhist temple. Most of the scenes in Japan will be filmed at locations in Tokyo and Hiroshima. Also, a fun little tidbit, the local title of the film will be, "Wolverine Vs. Samurai." To coincide withe Japanese title, Fox has registered the domain, "wolverine-samurai.jp."

The Wolverine will be directed by James Mangold (Knight and Day), from a script written by Christopher McQuarrie.. The cast includes: Hugh Jackamn (Logan/Wolverine), Svetlana Khodchenkova (Viper), Hiroyuki Sanada (Shingen), Hal Yamanouchi (Yashida), Tao Okamoto (Mariko), Rila Fukushima (Yukio), Brian Tee (Norubo Mori), and Will Yun Lee (Kenuichio Harada/Silver Samurai). The film will claw into theaters July 26, 2013.

it does not matter fox is still gonna phuck it up. how many times do you have to be kicked in the balls to realize that they are only after your money!? in order for every movie right to go back to marvel you can't give them any more money. the more money they make the more they think this is what we want. this is the same exact shit they said about every movie they make, they put out a bunch of crazy looking photos and tell you that "THIS ONE" will be more faithful to the comicbook and the they let you down. we're the ones who are paying out our hard earned money to go see a 90 min cry fest or drama queens or some monkey shit comedy. these movie are like bad commercials if you don't watch them they will go away, like the simpsons put it "JUST DON'T LOOK" PEOPLE WILL DO TO YOU WHAT YOU LET THEM!!.

Thanks for the pictures of Tokyo Japan instead of the actually pics of the actor or any cast members from the new film.Now my day is complete.I saw pictures of Japan.If I wanted to see Japan I'd just travel there.

Like honestly I like all the X-Men films, but I can't keep up anymore. I mean really are they all supposed to be connected in some way or are all of them separate...

At first I thought X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a reboot, but then they came out with First Class and I even heard something about continuing with a fourth film of the original X-Men, and then there's something about starting a new trilogy co-existing with the original X-Men, and the Wolverine movies having nothing to do with either films... Yes exactly, you see how confusing that sounds...

And yes I know it has nothing to do with the article, but I felt I had to get it off my chest... So like I said I'm a fan of all the X-Men films, but I'm just a little lost

The filming locations look great.

I really hope FOX realizes just how important Wolverine's time in Japan is to the character.

I don't get the feeling they will give wolverine a suit uniform or cowl fox just has not gave a reason to do so this wolverine isn't a superhero not part of any organization he doesn't have an identity which is fix ^#*^%#+*^ fault
