It looks like we won't be having a repeat of last year's situation with Deadpool as 20th Century Fox has been able to successfully secure a China release date for their next R-rated superhero offering, Logan

The James Mangold-directed film, which stars Academy Award-nominee Hugh Jackman in his final performance as the fan-favorite Wolverine, has been slated to release on March 17 in China, which is around two weeks after its domestic debut on March 3.

Additionally, Legendary Entertainment's upcoming monster movie Kong: Skull Island - which stars Golden Globe-winner Tom Hiddleston (Thor: Ragnarok), Academy Award-nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers: Infinity War), & Academy Award-winner Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) in the lead roles - has also been approved for release in China and will open on March 24, which is two weeks after its North American release.

Both films will face stiff competition from Walt Disney Pictures' live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, which opens March 17, but should still benefit heavily from the added boost of the Chinese box office. Jackman's last solo outing, The Wolverine, did very well in the Middle Kingdom back in 2013, raking in over $40.5 million, and then more recently, X-Men: Apocalypse was able to pull in over $120.7 million just last year. Kong's prospects also look pretty good, assuming it performs similarly to its sister movie Godzilla, which was able to gross over $77.6 million in China back in 2014.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Beauty and the Beast is going to kill everything that month.

Maybe not in China but certainly in Europe and North America.
