Bryan Singer to Direct Wolverine Sequel?

According to the never-so reliable IMDB, Bryan Singer is in talks to direct "X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2," based on a script from former collaborator Christopher McQuarrie.

The two have previously worked together to bring you "The Usual Suspects," and "Valkyrie."

Bryan Singer is the man responsible for bringing Wolverine to the big screen in the first place, with his 2000 hit "X-Men," which spawned the current CBM craze.

This will mark McQuarrie's first time on a CBM.

If this is true, it'll be worse than the first one.

It doesnt surprise me, Singer has previously stated how he feels more comfortable directing an ensemble cast. I.E. x-men compared to Superman Returns

Im just bored at work and stumbled across it and wanted to see what other people's reactions were.

@Gaston- Agreed. While his X-Men films weren't perfect, they were a helluva lot better that the shit-fests that Ratner and Hood fed us.

I'd be thrilled to see him back in the director's chair for more X-Films.

Singer miscast Wolverine from the start. Hugh Jackman is a good actor, but a tall Wolverine is as true to the character as a short Hulk.

I'll never watch a non Marvel controlled movie again. Just trying to do my part in making these movies so unprofitable that Marvel will get the rights back!

I never minded Singer, He sure did not know what direction to go with superman though, a remake,a sequal, something new?!? I wonder why he thought it would be a good idea to have supes as a peepng tom and an unintentional dead beet dad? lol. That said, I enjoyed his X films and Superman Returns, I hope they Keep Brandon Routh, he is damn good as superman/clark Kent, he just needs to update him for today.
as for wolverine two? I hope he does get his hands on it, i will give Singer another chance with the any x film.

Ah' :-)

So if this is true, the film wont have much action in it and by the end of the film Wolverine's big fight will be with a female supervillian again?.

Hmm... :-( Sorry, I just dont like the original xmen film's full stop. I even liked Xmen 3 a little more because it at least tried to be more comic based (even though a bad story)

They should take Xmen first class as a reboot and try an get it right from scratch. Oh and not bother with Wolverine 2 = find someone slightly smaller and not voted most handsome male to play Logan.. grrr!

I think he's do a good job. The first 2 x-men movies were awesome. Last Stand and Wolverine definitely could've been a lot better. With an awesome story like the one they're gonna use for the next Wolvie, it'd be hard for him to screw up

Great news! Bryan definitely knows his x-men. Much better with marvel than dc. Nolan=batman, singer=x-men! Great combo team for wolverine 2! Can't wait! They made 2 awesome movies together!

I think this will lead to a much better movie if it's true. The first one was so terrible, I was in physical pain while watching it.

I'd rather a tall Wolverine who can take over the role than a short guy who would disgrace it. Who gives a sh!t about his height, they used simple camera tricks to keep his 6'3 frame looking 5'11 - 6' ( which I know is still tall but it works.)

Singer's movies were very good, they just didn't follow the comics enough, but the movies were good so at least we get 1 out of 2.

Hey dasboot, gtrman, is your yearly movie budget around $50M? 'cause the studios would have to make at least that much less in order for them to stop making movies, and if they did do that poorly why would Disney go and pump a bunch of money into a new franchise if it wasn't profitable in the first place?

Your best bet is to just be optimistic and hope for a turnaround, Fox knows that the last two movies sucked, I think they have a bit of pride in there somewhere.

I am so f'n tired of Wolverine - I don't care who directs it. There are a million characters in this universe, all with interesting stories, but lets stick with the guy that has claws come out of his hands. He's already had 4 movies centered around him, an entire animated series re-tell all of the X-Men stories with him as the leader, they'll probably figure out some reason he belongs in X-Men: First Class, and now there's going to be another Wolverine movie. I can't believe how bad the last two movies were, but as long as they make money FOX couldn't care less. Good for Hugh Jackman, but bad for fans. :(
