X-Men Movie Casts Mister Sinister, Rogue And Storm As Logo And Release Date Are Revealed

Marvel Studios has officially announced the release date and cast for Jake Schreier's X-Men reboot, and there were some big surprises at D23. We also have the movie's logo and release date.

The cast of Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot has finally been revealed, with Kevin Feige welcoming them and filmmaker Jake Schreier to the stage at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event tonight.

The movie, which is now confirmed to kick off the MCU's next Saga in 2028, will star Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury.

Nathaniel Milbury? That's one of the many monikers used by Mister Sinister over the years. Addressing fans in a video message, Driver said, "Kevin and I have been talking for years about me joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I think we've finally found the perfect film at the perfect time with characters I care very deeply about."

He continued, "So I'm very excited to be playing the role of...Magneto! Wrong again? Right. Even better. Nathaniel Milbury. So, I'll be right here waiting for everybody to show up."

Some of the names above will be familiar to you. Sink recently made her MCU debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and is best known for her role in Stranger Things

Connor (Heartstopper) has been rumoured for Cyclops, while the trades have already reported that Abbott (Wolf Man) is playing Professor X and that Weaving (Ready to Not) would take on Emma Frost. The two big surprises were Navarrette as Rogue and Boyd as Storm.

Navarrette recently put herself on the map with a standout performance in the horror hit, Obsession. She's since become one of Hollywood's most in-demand stars, and previously confirmed meeting with Schreier (in a clever misdirect, the actress expressed interest in Mystique).

Boyd, meanwhile, is an unknown. She previously made her Broadway debut in Merrily We Roll Along and later played Juliet Capulet in the Broadway production of & Juliet, but X-Men marks her first film or television role. Clearly, she greatly impressed Marvel Studios and Schreier.

Right now, the MCU's X-Men features Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, and Rogue (we're assuming Emma Frost will be a villain, though she may lead the team alongside Professor X). Something tells us that there's more to come, especially as Beast has been heavily rumoured to appear. For the time being, this is a hugely impressive start.

X-Men arrives in theaters on May 5, 2028.

I wonder if this is everyone.

Glad no Wolverine honestly, let him rest a bit.
SummersEssex
SummersEssex - 8/15/2026, 12:58 AM
@Amaru - Wolverine should be a supporting character at most. I sure hope there are more to come but if these are the mains it’s a good lineup.
Amaru
Amaru - 8/15/2026, 12:59 AM
@SummersEssex - No issue at all with the line up, would just like to see Beast or Ice Man.
Kadara
Kadara - 8/15/2026, 1:02 AM
@Amaru - So done with Wolverine and Mystique on the big screen. Look at the recent X-Men 97 season and how they highlighted Rogue, Gambit, and Nightcrawler as major focus points!

mastakilla39 - 8/15/2026, 1:19 AM
@Amaru - Wolverine is bigger than the x-men. He will def get his own solo trilogy then crossover when they need him to.

I dont see them sidelining that character or making him just part of the team.
EskimoJ
EskimoJ - 8/15/2026, 2:03 AM
@Amaru - Feige clarified that this isn't the whole team.
Toecutter
Toecutter - 8/15/2026, 4:25 AM
@Kadara - They'd be dumb to bench Wolverine for too long. He's one of Marvel's biggest characters, so I'm sure he's getting his own series of films, and then maybe joining the X-Men in one of the sequels.

@Amaru - everything I have read, they are in it. They just haven’t locked in the actors yet. Hopefully this if good 🤞

@mastakilla39 - I don't disagree with you really, I just hope they let the team breathe a bit for a movie or two at least.

@EskimoJ - Thanks, I missed that.

@Amaru - There should be no Wolverine like there should be Storm.

Too early for Rogue and Emma Frost too. This is Fox all over again.
Amaru
Amaru - 8/15/2026, 3:58 PM
@ObserverIO - You don't even know what direction they are going. Kids like you are so dramatic sometimes.
deamon

@Toecutter - Agree, he has to be Alpha Flight member in their movie first and join X-Men maybe in third X-Men movie.
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 8/16/2026, 4:36 AM
@Amaru - I know what direction they're not going. And that's to stay close comics lore. I guess the old [frick]s like me who care about that are dying out though. Kids like you are used to them not doing it right. Because of Fox.
Amaru
Amaru - 8/16/2026, 11:04 AM

ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 8/16/2026, 11:09 AM
@Amaru - I don't need to wait and see. It's officially been announced that Rogue, Emma Frost, Mister Sinister and Storm are in the movie. I think when we wait and see if they're in the movie or not we will see that they are.

I’m really glad that they are going with more unknown up and coming actors. I’m sure we will get more characters announced as they finalize casting but I’m liking the look of their picks so far.
maxx
maxx - 8/15/2026, 1:19 AM
@MrDandy - completely agreed. Young unknowns can carry the team forward for decades. Driver as the biggest name & villain is smart and strategic too.

If we look at how they plotted the Infinity Saga, I'm wondering who will be the big bad of the Mutant Saga?

Using Sinister here kind of takes him off the board as the real big bad. Think it'll end up being Apocalypse or Magneto (House of M)? Maybe somebody else?
Loohnutick
Loohnutick - 8/15/2026, 1:40 AM
@maxx - Big bad will probably be the Phoenix featuring Avengers. Avengers (with a rebooted Cap and Iron Man) vs X-Men with a united Magneto and Charles.

Expand the team with each sequel. Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Wolverine in the sequel.
Kadara

Great casting! Can't wait to see them for next however many years! Hopefully they'll learn from Jonathan Majors and stay out of trouble in meantime!
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 8/15/2026, 4:07 AM
@Kadara - Majors didn't really get in trouble tho. He got caught up with a crazy woman and this shows in many security footage accounts. Most of the charges were dismissed and he was really only charged with minimal nonsense so it didn't look bad on the legal side.

As a big Marvel fan, they royally fvcked up with the decision to part from Majors.
ProfessorWhy

@Tonic24k - I loved his take on Kang, he should be the villain of the FF sequel

@Tonic24k

This is a reminder that Jonathan Majors admitted to strangling the woman on tape.

“As a big Marvel fan, they royally fvcked up with the decision to part from Majors.”

They absolutely made the right decision and they’re better off.
Pathogen
Pathogen - 8/15/2026, 9:49 AM
@Tonic24k - Really? I thought he was the dullest part of the Loki series. Maybe its partly because i don't like Kang as a character, but I haven't liked Majors in anything I've seen him in really

@FireGunn

Why am I a coward? Lmao.

“No he did not.”

Yes he absolutely did. That’s why he’s making Daily Wire movies now. This is on top of all the exes he’s had who have come forward and said he was abusive.

https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-features/jonathan-majors-audio-strangling-ex-girlfriend-1235297615/

He was an extremely talented actor, but also a complete psycho. All he had to do was keep his hands to himself and he’d be a mega star.

@FireGunn

Majors: “I’m ashamed I’ve ever— I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.”

Jabbari: “You strangled me and pushed me against the car,”

Majors: “Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah. That’s never happened to me.”

Jabbari: “Because I said something sarcastically, in your eyes?”

Majors: "Well clearly, it’s more than that.”

Jabbari: “Something inside of you."

Majors: “Yeah, towards you."

FireGunn - 8/15/2026, 12:26 PM
@regmovieguy - You're a coward because you're lying about a situation that never happened to try and appear politically correct.

"This is on top of all the exes he’s had who have come forward and said he was abusive."

I don't care what his non verified jealous exes had to say about him. There is no proof of anything/ He's making daily wire movies now because Grace Jabbari ruined his career by being in a toxic relationship with him. He was caught running away from her on camera but oh no he grabbed her wrist a little too hard!

All Grace Jabbari had to do was keep her hands to herself and stop chasing grown men around. He's one of the best actors working today and his career is destroyed because cowards such as yourself like to propagate lies about him.
regmovieguy
regmovieguy - 8/15/2026, 12:30 PM
@FireGunn

He admitted to strangling her and throwing her against a car, lmao. He compared his white girlfriend to that of Coretta Scott King. If you’re defending Majors at this point you’re giving off massive incel vibes.

“He's one of the best actors working today”

He was taking off but to call him one of the best working actors is extremely hyperbolic. He didn’t have a filmography to suggest that. And none of his Marvel performances were spectacular to begin with.

We’re better off without the woman beater. He can make his daily wire movies.
