X-MEN: Nicholas Hoult Says There's More To Explore With His Beast Character

Hank McCoy, otherwise known as Beast, was a prominent character in the past four X-Men films. Even though that universe is over, Nicholas Hoult says there's still more to the character in his opinion.

The last time we saw Beast was in Dark Phoenix last summer. Even though the reception for that movie was subpar, most can say Nicholas Hoult did a solid job as Hank McCoy/Beast. Not just in that movie, but First Class, Days of Future Past, and Apocalypse as well.

Recently, he shared his viewpoint on Beast with Variety, and here's what he had to say about it...

"That was a fun evolution and that's something that I'm always looking for is how a character changes. And I think there's a lot more to explore with that character," Hoult said while promoting his new Hulu series The Great.

He continued. "So I'd be interested to know where they see it going next."

There's no telling when Kevin Feige plans to introduce the X-Men in his cinematic universe, let alone Beast himself. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see what avenues the character can go that wasn't shown in the FOX X-Men films. Actually, Hoult isn't the only Beast actor who's said something like this.

Kelsey Grammer said back in 2016 that his Beast was underused, and would love to play the character again. Grammer was also heavily praised for his performance in X-Men: The Last Stand, and rightfully so.

Well not anymore, that universe is dead.

For the MCU, hopefully they dont get a bunch of 20 somethings for Beast and Mystique. Get people willing to wear the make up full time. Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn and event Nightcrawler's actor in apocalypse did.

Never liked him as beast or really anything they did with that character.

Not YOUR Beast character unfortunately. Singer ruined the nice foundation Vaughn created in First Class

@BlackBeltJones - Strange how he also ruined Mystique, considering he directed the first 2 movies, guessing the problem with mystique was more from Jennifer Lawrence

Every character not named Wolverine was underused. That was kind of one of the franchise's issues.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - he's actually a very good actor. But I guess doesn't really have a leading man look?

@Dredd97 - To be fair, from all accounts it sounds like he’s the only member of the main trio for Fury Road that didn’t make the set more miserable for George Miller, haha.
I liked him a lot as Nux and in The Favourite, I feel like he’s at his best in those kinds of roles

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - To be fait, losing out on Solo was a BIG W, considering it seems to have tanked Ehrenreich, a dude who was coming off of critical acclaim for a Coen Bros. film

@tmp3 - Undoubtedly. No idea why he was even considered tbh. I don't see any semblance of Harrison Ford in him.

@tmp3 - I was just kidding lol but I do feel bad. He seems like a decent guy, but his luck is ass, man. He was great as Nux. I just never saw him as Beast

To explore what? To explore why he still look like a young man after 30 years?
In this timeline apparently everyone has Wolverine's very slow aging, seriously, i don't mind the hundreds of inconsistencies between this new movies and original trilogy (since this is a new timeline) but AT LEAST HAVE LOGIC AMONG THEM! Beast sould look as mature as Kelsey Grammer by Days of Future Past. Charles and Eric should be as old as The Last Stand by Apocalypse, and why tf does Quicksilver still looks like a teenager after 20 years?
Also, i've always hated his straight stand up pose, he should be always as hunched as a gorilla.

Everything about doing FC was wrong, they should just went to X4 with the team they had at the end of X3, with Storm, Beast, Rouge(Aumented), Iceman, Kitty, Colossus, Angel they needed just Gambit and they could go for another 3 movies before having to reset with DOFP.
