UNCHARTED's Joe Carnahan Is Writing The X-FORCE Screenplay For Fox
It's been quite some time since we've had a solid update on X-Force, but a new report reveals that action genre specialist Joe Carnahan is writing the screenplay. However, will he also direct the movie?
Joe Carnahan is a very busy man. As he gets ready to direct the third instalment of the Bad Boys franchise, he also recently finished writing Uncharted for Shawn Levy and is even working on a remake of The Raid with Frank Grillo. However, Collider reports that he's now also penning the screenplay for the long in development X-Force movie.
It sounds like he'll be taking the project in an R-Rated direction so it remains in line with movies like Deadpool and Logan, and given the darker nature of the team's adventures, that makes perfect sense.
Details beyond that are scarce, though the site adds that Carnahan is currently not attached to direct the movie. Who will is a complete mystery, but chances are it won't be Kick-Ass 2's Jeff Wadlow. Before that movie was released to terrible reviews and an abysmal box office performance, he was attached to write and direct, but things have clearly changed since then.
