BOX OFFICE: Bryan Singer's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Passes $600 Million Worldwide

Brett Ratner's critically panned X-Men: The Last Stand previously held the honour of being the highest grossing instalment in the Twentieth Century Fox franchise with $459 million, but X-Men: Days of Future Past has now surpassed that with over $600 million worldwide!

By JoshWilding - Jun 08, 2014 10:06 AM EST

Despite the controversy surrounding director Bryan Singer ahead of its release, X-Men: Days of Future Past has still managed to become not only one of the best reviewed films of the summer, but also one of the most commercially successful. It's fair to say that the movie which united two different ensemble casts on the big screen deserves the type of success detailed below, and it will be interesting to see which milestone it hits next. $700 million still seems possible, and there's every chance that the goodwill surrounding the Fox owned Marvel franchise after three great movies will result in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse hitting $1 billion! What do you guys think?

Looks like Marvel characters rule the world. The top grossing movies around the world this year are Cap, Spider-Man and X-Men :)

Overrated is such a dumb term. There's no definite reasoning as to which makes something overrated. It's more opinion based than anything and even then I feel it shouldn't be used.

"X-Men: Apocalypse hitting $1 billion!"

Won't happen. The film is opening head to head with Alice in Wonderland 2 whilst BvS and Cap 3 are still in theatres. Unless Fox moves it, it'll be unlikely imo.

I think Apocalypse might end up around 700-800 million but seeing that it's going to be released around the same time Batman vs. Superman, Cap 3 and Alice in Wonderland 2 we might be looking at a squeezing success. It's just too much power in the month of May 2016! *pats forehead*

@Asgardian

it will be in the 80s
