BOX OFFICE: X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Now Expected To Reach Upwards Of $120M

Analysts initially predicted that Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past MIGHT reach $100 million over the four day Memorial Day weekend, but great word of mouth and almost unanimously positive reviews have resulted in the "inbetweenquel" possibly earning as much as $120 million!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, X-Men: Days of Future Past could reach as much as $120 million over the Memorial Day weekend, with its only real competition the Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore led Blended which will earn less than $20 million. Though it cost only $45 million to produce, that still makes the comedy something of a flop for the studio who were expecting an awful lot more! There's curently no word on how well Godzilla will do during its second weekend at the North American box office, but the news that director Gareth Edwards will be helming a Star Wars spin-off will surely increase interest in the monster movie. We'll have updated numbers for you tomorrow, but if you haven't checked out either X-Men: Days of Future Past or Godzilla yet, be sure to do so over the next couple of days! What are you planning on seeing?

Did anyone catch the Len Wein and Chris Claremont cameos?

I saw Len Wein in the movie. But sadly they didn't allow Grant Morrison to come back. Jerks!

@Kryptoniano

He probably should have just stuck with the franchise the whole time.

I mean leaving it to make duds/bombs like Valkyrie, Superman Returns and Jack The Giant Slayer?

Not the best move.
As a director he really needed a hit at this point.

Good. I'm hoping to see it soon. I've been pretty hard on the X franchise over the years but I loved First Class and all of the good word of mouth has me excited.

Saw my early viewing Wednesday night & was beyond pleased. Easily in the conversation for best comic book of all time!

I'm not too worried if this movie doesn't meet what analysts are projecting because after seeing it I know this movie is going to keep raking in week after week. $120 over four days ($100 over 3) would be great but this movie is going to keep strong for weeks to come.

They really nailed this movie! As I said, possibly the best CBM ever and easily the top CBM with multiple heroes.

I argue if GotG delivers, that and CapTWS would give Marvel Studio the "win" for 2014, either way, both studios have done great!

Hi. I'm a hater. Right here.

I'm sure it's a fine movie. As far as a depiction of the "Days of Future Past" story from the comics, it sounds very unfaithful thus, in my mind, crap.

By the way, it sounds like it's not even that good of a band-aid used to cover the broken timeline. This is all based on what I've heard and read so far. I'll judge it for myself when I can see if for free. REVERT!!!
