Antonio Banderas, Nicolas Cage & John Travolta Won't Be In The Expendables 2

A couple of different reports here...first up, Sandwich John Films caught up with Antonio Banderas at the Puss In Boots premiere last night, asking the actor if he was offered a role in The Expendables 2. He doesn't entirely rule out appearing, but says that he doesn't have the time to participate for the time being.

They asked me to do it, I don't think at this point I will have the time. I am very disappointed that it didn't work out. But you never know I will have to talk to Sly.

Also, the folks over at Think McFly Think are reporting that Nicolas Cage and John Travolta - who collaborated on the film Face/Off and were rumored to reunite for Expendables 2 - will not be in the film. According to the cite, a deal with Cage couldn't be worked out and Travolta 'didn't go for it'.

If you were hoping to see Nicolas Cage and John Travolta filing rank next to Sly, Jason Statham, Jett Li, Dolph Lundgren & Co, prepare to be disappointed. Despite attempts, sources tell TMT neither Cage nor Travolta will participate thus depriving the world of that Face/Off reunion. A deal for the former couldn't be worked out and word is Travolta "just didn't go for it."

The Expendables 2 hits theaters August 17th, 2012.

@elcaballerooscuro92 and supes17 i doubt jackie chan would ever do the expendables considering it's way too violent for him, he's very much on the comedic side of things. but, i do believe donny yen and chow yun fat would definitely do it if they were contacted. by the way, they didn't hit westly snipes for this?...

@joeker: Yeah, same here. I think bringing West on board is a step in the right direction. Judging from COn Air, he knows a thing or two about filming movies with large casts. And I think the characters will seem a little more natural on scene and the action will be more of what we expected (but didn't quite get) from the first one.
