@thetrojan

Your comment is one big oxymoron. You live in the UK and admit to having Pakistani, Indian, & Jamaican friends, something most people in other countries would not be able to say. Your deluding yourself if you think your friends have absolutely no cultural impact on your life. And again your deluding yourself if you think that their heritage has no cultural impact on their lives.

I didn't say or even imply that EVERY kid in the UK talks like a rudeboy. All I said is that the UK has been influenced by Jamaican, Pakistani, & Indian cultures.

Battyman.

...and if you know what that is, you've proved my point ;)

I thoroughly dislked Attack the Block. I knew the film was crap when I started rooting for the aliens. Having lived in Tottenham in North London, I would never, ever make those punk kids out to be protagonists...they were just punk kids like the ones I saw on a daily basis there. Too bad the aliens didn't wipe them all out.

@NATRAG

Firstly, get off your high horse bro.....you are in the MINORITY if you didn't like ATTACK THE BLOCK. The movie currently sits at a 90% Fresh Rating on RottenTomatoes....

...but I'll take the bait.

1. The movie is fcuking HILARIOUS
2. Solid acting from everyone except the main antagonist (John Boyega in particular was EXCELLENT)
3. Solid, albeit outlandish, plot.
4. EXCELLENT cinematography
5. EXCELLENT pacing
6. EXCELLENT casting
7. Decent special effects, especially since it was made for $13mil
8. Good character development

Ya know what, a better question would be why the fcuk didn't YOU like it? No sense of humor? Did you get beat up by a bunch of hoods when you were a kid? Do you just generally take life too seriously?

Everyone I've recommended the film to has thought it was brilliant...maybe you need a re-watch? Only this time, leave your judgement at the door..
