Filming on
Bad Boys for Life commenced earlier this month and while we've had some unofficial shots make their way online, Will Smith has posted an official first look at the buddy cop duo. Smith took to Instagram to share a boomerang of the two stars appropriately set to P. Diddy's 2011 track "
Bad Boys for Life."
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be reprising their roles as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett in the upcoming threequel film, which is to be directed by Belgian filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah. The directors will be taking over for Michael Bay, who helmed the first two films in the franchise.
Bad Boys and
Bad Boys 2 combined to gross over $400 million at the worldwide box office.
Joining Smith and Lawrence on this ride-or-die adventure are Vanessa Hudgens, Charles Melton, and Joe Pantoliano. There's no word on if
Bad Boys 2 star Gabrielle Union, who played Mike's love interest and Marcus' sister, will return. However, she is set to star in the upcoming
Bad Boys spin-off TV series,
L.A.'s Finest, alongside Jessica Alba.
Bad Boys for Life is set to hit theaters on January 17, 2020.
