Filming on Bad Boys for Life commenced earlier this month and while we've had some unofficial shots make their way online, Will Smith has posted an official first look at the buddy cop duo. Smith took to Instagram to share a boomerang of the two stars appropriately set to P. Diddy's 2011 track "Bad Boys for Life."

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be reprising their roles as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett in the upcoming threequel film, which is to be directed by Belgian filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah. The directors will be taking over for Michael Bay, who helmed the first two films in the franchise. Bad Boys and Bad Boys 2 combined to gross over $400 million at the worldwide box office.

Joining Smith and Lawrence on this ride-or-die adventure are Vanessa Hudgens, Charles Melton, and Joe Pantoliano. There's no word on if Bad Boys 2 star Gabrielle Union, who played Mike's love interest and Marcus' sister, will return. However, she is set to star in the upcoming Bad Boys spin-off TV series, L.A.'s Finest, alongside Jessica Alba.

Bad Boys for Life is set to hit theaters on January 17, 2020.

Who rocks this song better: Tom Brady and Gronk or Will Smith and Martin Lawerence?

It's always so funny to me when the second billed actor surpasses the actor who was really popular at the time. Martin Lawrence was first billed in Bad Boys while Will Smith was second. Kind of like how Thora Burch was first billed for Ghost World while Scarlett Johansson was second. You just can't predict how much more famous someone may turn out.

I hope this is good. Crossing my fingers but not holding my breath.

The first two were a lot of fun, and exactly the type of movies Bay should be directing (Pain & Gain was a fun return to form). Given that Smith and Lawrence are passionate about the franchise, even without Bay, I'm sure this one will deliver some thrills.
