There can be only one!
Deadline is reporting that Henry Cavill (Mission: Impossible - Fallout; Zack Snyder's Justice League) is in talks to topline the cast of Lionsgate's upcoming Highlander reboot, which has Chad Stahelski (John Wick: Chapter 2; John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum) set to direct.
Further details on his role are currently being kept under wraps, so it's unclear whether he'll be playing Conor McLeod or another established character from the previous film/series or if he's been cast as a brand new character created for the film.
A previous iteration of the project had the likes of Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool; Deadpool 2) and Justin Lin (Fast Five; F9) attached, but both have long since departed. Stahelski finally took the helm in 2016, and with his star now in place, production is expected to begin relatively soon, possibly even before the end of the year, although it's probably a safe bet that it won't roll cameras until after Stahelski wraps John Wick: Chapter 4.
Cavill recently wrapped the second season of Netflix's The Witcher and has also signed on to return for Millie Bobby Brown's Enola Holmes sequel, which is expected to begin production at the end of this year. Outside of that, he's also rumored to make a cameo in Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible 7, but with no Superman reprisal in the cards, it would appear as though his schedule is currently wide open for another big-budget blockbuster.
