Christopher Nolan has one impressive filmmaking history with many good films under his belt such as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception, and The Prestige and is now serious about adding another to his works--another installment in the James Bond series. With Sam Mendez as the current director and Daniel Craig as the latest Bond in the upcoming Skyfall, things are sure to continue in the more gritty direction that the previous two Bond films have taken so far. However, in classic Bond tradition, it could be likely that they will step down soon. When they step down, Nolan could indeed be one of the possible directors to step up to take the challenge of continuing the Bond legacy. The director has reportedly stated that he is very serious about making a Bond film, and is indeed a huge fan of the franchise. Indie Wire reports that he has given a few words featured in Empire about his own a possible spin on the famous film series. Check it out below:

"Luckily I managed to find another wealthy, quirky character who's orphaned at a young age. It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things."

Do you feel that he'd be the right director for another possible future installment in the franchise? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

I could see it happening...Each Bond film in the new series has had a different director. He could very well be the next one

Would have been great to see. The thing with Bond though, is it is always great to see a new director come onboard and see what they do with the franchise, sometimes it works well, and others not so well.

I think a Nolan Bond, could work. I wonder if it will happen

Funny thing was, watching Inception, that scene where Cobb is taking out the bad guys, by not pulling the trigger to shoot his gun, I got a Bond vibe from that.

I would like to see a stand alone Nolan directed Bond film. No promises of a sequel, just one film, nothing more.

Yes...a Bond film that is long, boring, entirely too introspective, and takes itself much too seriously! Quantum of Solace part 2!!

Nolan would be great but the best bond director is Martin Campbell, Goldeneye and Casino Royale are two of my fave Bond movies.

Agree @grif, I think he would give a bond film a whole lot of juice.

I could see this working. Never was THAT interested in James Bond. Maybe Nolan can change my mind. But idk.

NO!!!!!

i am sick of his arty style of movies. his action scenes suck and i am glad his time with Batman is over. don't want him doing anything with a franchise like Bond.

Well seeing the prologue to TDKR in IMAX was like watching a classic rousing Bond pre-title sequence, so I would like to see the idea come to fruition at some point, but only when a new actor comes in and as long as a co-screenwriter is bought on board (not his brother) who can keep him from getting too stylised or straying too far from the essence of 007.

I'm glad to hear him mention this again. He already said how big of a fan he was of the James Bond series.

I think Nolan would make a great James Bond movie.

Especially since the reboot, the James Bond world has been more grounded in reality. So that would suite Nolan well.

^That was a fail comment...
Inception didn't feel realistic to me at all... it was futuristic and surrealistic....

And, uhm, only Batman speaks with the Batman voice...
Well, Bale does, he always has the gravelly almost whispering voice...
He doesn't use realism in EVERY film, he only applied it to Batman..

Have you NOT seen The Prestige and the duplicating device used??

As artistic as Nolan is I still feel like most of his films are boring. Only Batman Begins actually caught my attention and maybe Heath Ledgers laugh but that's about it. I try hard to like the new Bond films but something about them just don't do it for me, Maybe Skyfall can be something different but somebody said it had a lot of similarities to The Dark knight so that is basically like if Nolan made a Bond film.

[frick] yeah! Nolan should definitely do a Bond film. Give him the next one as far as I'm concerned.

At first it seems like a perfect match. But I was watching Quantum of Solace, today and I was thinking how successful the Daniel Craig films are at making Bond gritty and realistic. Nolan believes his Batman films to be gritty and realistic, but they're a lot like the sort of Bond films that we got before. Nolan should stay away from this particular variation of the Bond franchise, lest he ruin a good thing.
