MI6 has learned that Thomas Newman - who has scored films such as
Road To Perdition and
The Shawshank Redemption - has replaced David Arnold as the composer of Sam Mendes' upcoming Bond film
Skyfall, set to be released this November. Arnold, who's worked on every Bond film since 1997's
Tomorrow Never Dies, will apparently be too busy to score the latest film, due to his being the London Olympics musical director. Newman has worked with director Mendes before, on films such as
Revolutionary Road and
American Beauty.
MI6 understands that American composer Thomas Newman will be scoring the new James Bond film, "Skyfall", due out later this year. Regular series composer David Arnold, who has scored five James Bond entries from "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997) through to "Quantum of Solace" (2008) will be busy in 2012 as he is the London Olympics musical director.
Skyfall is set to hit theaters November 9th, later this year.
