Not much is known about the plot of
Fast & Furious 9, but we do know that Cipher — the main antagonist of
The Fate of the Furious —
will be returning. She'll look a little bit different when see her back on the big screen, however.
Charlize Theron took to social media this weekend to share two photos from the set of
Fast & Furious 9. One of them suggests that Cipher will be ditching her dreads for a badass new bowl cut.
“She’s baaaaack,” Theron wrote of the cyberterrorist's return.
The ninth installment in the
Fast & Furious franchise is building a star-studded cast that includes the return of Helen Mirren as Magdalene Shaw. While Dwayne Johnson will not be back, there's more than enough to make up for his absence with the casting of former WWE superstar
John Cena and UFC heavyweight fighter
Francis Ngannou.
Guardians of the Galaxy star
Michael Rooker will also appear in the film.
Fast & Furious 9 speeds into theaters on May 22, 2020. Justin Lin will be returning to the director's chair.
