Does Dwayne Johnson ever just take a moment to relax? Fresh off his blockbuster movies
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Rampage, and
Skyscraper, Johnson has started filming
Jungle Cruise while announcing the renewal of his hit HBO show
Ballers. His IMDB page reveals a number of other projects in the works including a sequel to
Jumanji, Black Adam, and a ton more. But wait, there's also
Hobbs and Shaw, the long-awaited spin-off to the successful action franchise
Fast & Furious.
The upcoming film, which stars Johnson and his partner in crime Jason Statham, has had a bumpy road, but it looks like it has cleared all of its hurdles. Johnson took to Instagram to celebrate the start of work on
Hobbs and Shaw. He posted a photo of co-star Jason Statham alongside director David Leitch in front of some slick cars that I'll never be able to afford. Johnson added that he'll join them in London in two weeks.
Both Statham and Leitch also shared the photo, adding their own personal touch to commemorate the start of production on
Hobbs and Shaw.
Joining Johnson and Statham on this action-packed adventure will be
The Crown's Vanessa Kirby, who will reportedly play an MI-5 agent and Shaw's sister. Idris Elba has also signed on and will reportedly play the film's main villain going up against special agent Luke Hobbs and criminal mastermind Deckard Shaw.
Hobbs and Shaw hits theaters July 26, 2019.
