Sherlock Holmes 2 will once agin be directed by Guy Ritchie and produced by Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey and Dan Lin. The screenplay is by Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney. Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law reprise there roles as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, respectively as the duo join forces to outwit and bring down their fiercest adversary, Professor Moriarty.















Sherlock Holmes 2 is set to be released on December 16, 2011!

I loved the first movie so am really excited for this sequel. I've never really been that impressed by Guy Ritchie (his past work has never really been my sort of thing) but he nailed everything from the look, tone and feel to the fantastic music used! In fact, I'm 100% sure that it'll be just another great film to add to the already amazing 2011 line up. :)

Wow, its filming already! YES! Great news Josh! Cant wait for this movie! Loved the first one, RDJ was awesome as Holmes and it was the only movie where I could actually stand Jude Law

But I really hope Moriarty isnt the main villain because he really should be left as the main villain until a third movie. In this second movie, have Sherlock and Watson tracking Moriarty and his criminal network and they end up in battle with his main lieutenant or something. Then when Sherlock and Watson bring down Moriarty's lieutenant and his criminal empire, Moriarty vows revenge on them which we see in the third movie (which will hopefully be out in 2014 after Iron Man 3 in 2013)

I was hoping Daniel Day-Lewis, Bill Nighy or Gary Oldman as Moriarty, but im sure Jared Harris is good in the role!

I loved the first movie too, looking forward to that one too, specially because of Professor Moriarty(who I Think that should be played by IAN MCKELLEN, because the character is an old man lol, still I´m ok with who they casted) and Mycroft!

Yeah these 3 (RDJ, Law, and Guy Richie) were attending UFC 120 the other day (Saturday) which was held in England so I figured they were filming since those 3 were together in the front row sitting next to each other.

dancingmonkey@ I think the villain should be then Col. Sebastian Moran. Holmes has described him as the second most dangerous man in London. He also works for Moriarty and is highly skilled Marksman.

"...highly anticipated..?" Eh. The first was kinda just a flaccid, middle of the road, mystery adventure. RDJ was, of course, fun to watch, but other than that...eh. Oh i'll still throw my money at it, don't get me wrong. :) Been reading this site for awhile, new to the forums, not trying to be too big a turd.

That is a fantastic idea, he would fit the second movie perfectly, then Moriarty could be the main villain for the third one where the "the Final Problem" could be the plot of the movie
