“The Lone Ranger” is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

Starring Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter, The Lone Ranger is set to hit theatres on July 3, 2013.

IDK. I'm a big fan of the Lone Ranger, so I was quite happy they were rebooting it. Still I don't like it he's in a suit, and Tonto looks alright but not sure about Depp playing him... IDK. Just depends. I'll judge it more when I see a trailer.

Rango was pretty [frick]ing cool and Depp is capable giving interesting performances when he wants to, so we'll see I guess. Neat poster though.

This movie looks like "The adventures of Tonto and another guy"

There's so much about Tonto going around lately, why not just make it a spin-off? Though I'll probably be proven wrong once the trailer is released.

I'm just happy we are getting something that is not Marvel or DC. That way the trolling is not as big.

As long as it doesn't take itself seriously, I'll probably enjoy this.

Kinda tired of Johnny Depp and his whole "dress me up weird and I'll act weird" schtick.

It was funny the first thousand times, now it is just old, tired and meh.

Not holding out high hopes for this one, but, I will wait until it is released to pass final judgment.

They should've just hired Depp for Lone Ranger. This looks like it's gonna be his show anyways. Then maybe they could've hired an actual native for Tonto. Depp being whatever percent Native is a B.S. excuse anyways.

I like how Armie Hammer is listed after Depp even though it's called the lone ranger

Not quite understanding the font set they used for everything other than the title. It doesn't resonate as western/Lone Ranger for me.

I'm sure Depp picked to play Tonto so that he could wear the same white makeup that he's wore for the past three or four movies. Turning Dark Shadows into a Depp drivin' comedy ruined it for me (no I've not seen it) and I really don't have much hopes for this version of Lone Ranger.

Reminds me of Burton's Batman. Jack Nicholson got top billing for that as well. I remember such a big deal was made out of him that people were saying the movie should've been called "The Joker". Yet, what a great movie that turned out to be.

I myself am incredibly disappointed that they went with Depp for Tonto. You have GOT to be [frick]in kidding me??? But Hammer appears to be a good choice for The Lone Ranger. I, like others, will reserve my final judgement for the end product.

Cool poster tho. Sorry, it IS pretty striking.

Very original poster indeed.

Oh well lets hope the best for the movie itself.

I dont have nothing against Depp playing Tonto (althought i would have prefered Adam Beach) i think Depp is not that bad of choice. But i really hoped they would get rid off that bird and facepaint.

My Tonto and Lone Ranger would have looked something like this.

Pretty decent poster. Looking forward to this one. Although I agree that marketing Tonto more than the Ranger himself is a bad move, but makes sense because Depp is a much bigger actor than Hammer.

Everything has to be always reinvented.
