With production on Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan season three underway, Deadline is reporting that the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series has rounded out its cast with Betty Gabriel (Get Out; Westworld), James Cosmo (His Dark Materials; Braveheart), Peter Guinness (Zack Snyder's Justice League; Alien3), Nina Hoss (Little Sister; A Most Wanted Man) and Alexej Manvelov (Chernobyl; Before We Die) in series regular roles.
Gabriel will play Elizabeth Wright, the Chief of Station, and takes over the role from Marianne Jean-Baptiste, who has exited the series due to creative differences. Meanwhile, Cosmo will play Luca, Guinness will play Petr, Hoss will play Alena, and Alexev will portray Alexei. Further details are currently unavailable.
The five join returning stars John Krasinski (A Quiet Place; The Office) as the titular hero, Wendell Pierce (The Wire; Suits) as James Greer and Michael Kelly (Man of Steel; House of Cards) as Mike November.
The streamer has also released the official synopsis for the upcoming third season, which reads,
"Season 3 of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan finds Jack Ryan (Krasinski) on the run and in a race against time. Jack is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive out in the cold. Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive and prevent a massive global conflict."
While no release date has been set just yet, the previous seasons debuted in August and October, respectively, so a Q4 2021 - possibly early 2022 - launch seems probable.
