George Miller's MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Finally Gets A Release Date

We've been wondering about the status of this one for a while now, but the follow-up to the movie which launched George Miller's career nearly 35 years ago has finally been given a release date!

Earlier this month, Tom Hardy described Mad Max: Fury Road's extensive reshoots as "building more Mad Max", but the movie - which started filming last July - may now finally be back on track. Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow have today announced that the follow up to Mad Max, The Road Warrior and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome will finally be released on May 15th, 2015. That's quite a wait, although they also confirmed that it will be in 3D, so that might...soften the blow? Are you guys looking forward to this release? Be sure to sound off below!

I don't care for this movie but 2 weeks is a good distance away from A2, remember that ant-man is two weeks away from BvsS also.

You gotta love WB for their effort though. It's hilarious. Pathetic, but hilarious.

It's not as stupid as putting Ant-Man, 2 weeks after Batman Vs. Superman. Either way, they both are going to get squashed.

Mel Gibson is so whacked out nowadays that he could play one of the weird villains in the new Mad Max.

Why is there backlash? Just because it's 2 weeks after The Avengers 2 doesn't mean it'll bomb or anything.

Ant-Man will have the Marvel-Avengers push. Most people don't even know about Mad Max. I'm 49. Not a target audience.

[frick] yeah! I'm pumped for this movie, just sucks I have to wait so long. And already people are trying to make it some big conspiracy to [frick] over Marvel, not surprising since these are usually the people who can't keep Marvel out of a [frick]ing conversation.

Mel Gibson wasn't at all bad in the first three, but Max isn't exactly a character you need a whole lot of range for. Tom Hardy is over-qualified, if anything.

Anyway, I wanna see.

Mad Max = Bomb. The movies are kind of weird, Waterworld weird. I liked the the third one with Tina Turner.

The only Avenger kids care about is Iron Man, and Thor 2's numbers prove that.

Don't get me wrong. I'll go see it, but Mad Max isn't like Hunger Games. WB should have waited until Labor Day.

Lawless wasn't a flop. Tom Hardy has been in more critically respected films such as Bronson, Warrior, The Dark Knight Rises, and Lawless.

Seriously Bronson is freaking fantastic.
