Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two director Christopher McQuarrie has revealed that Holt McCallany (Mindhunter; Fight Club), 3x Primetime Emmy-nominee Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation; Devs), and 2x Academy Award-nominee Janet McTeer (Jessica Jones; Sorry for Your Loss) have joined the cast of his upcoming action blockbuster.
McCallany is playing Secretary of Defense Bernstein while Offerman is seemingly playing a character named General Sydney. No word on who McTeer is playing, but she also seems to be in a bureaucratic role.
On a related note, we've received what appears to be confirmation that Academy Award-nominee Angela Bassett will reprise her Mission: Impossible - Fallout role as CIA director Erika Sloane in Dead Reckoning Part Two. Filming is currently underway on the action blockbuster, and is expected to be ongoing until at least October, 2023.
Tom Cruise's final Mission is shaping up to be quite a star-studded affair, and let's just hope we'll see some surprise familiar faces before all is said and done, including the likes of Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Maggie Q, and more.
McQuarrie shared the following photos, which also reveal that Charles Parnell and Henry Czerny will both be back for Part Two as well. Check them out below:
In addition to Tom Cruise as the headliner, the highly anticipated McQ-directed action blockbuster will also see the return of Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Academy Award-nominee Vanessa Kirby as the White Widow, Frederick Schmidt as Zola, and Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge.
Newcomers to the franchise include the aforementioned Hayley Atwell (Avengers: Endgame; Captain America: The First Avenger) as Grace, Shea Whigham (Perry Mason; Marvel's Agent Carter), Pom Klementieff (Avengers: Endgame; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Esai Morales (Titans; La Bamba), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2; Hobbs & Shaw), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride; Saw), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones; Carnival Row), Mark Gatiss (The Father; The Favourite), Charles Parnell (Top Gun: Maverick; Transformers: Age of Extinction), and Greg Tarzan Davis (Top Gun: Maverick; Grey's Anatomy).
