Mads Mikkelsen is just a cool dude. In POLAR he plays the worlds best assassin in a hyper violent comic book adaptation where he wears an eye patch...HOW DID THEY SCREW THIS UP!

I love Mads Mikkelsen and would argue he is one of Hollywoods most underrated actors. He has played so many amazing characters in so many amazing movies and T.V. shows that it some what baffles me that he doesn't get more roles. He is also one of those guys who just scream BAD GUY or BAD ASS and it is in the latter that POLAR, Netflix latest original release, that Mads gets his chance to finally play an assassin.

Duncan is the worlds greatest assassin and he has been doing it for decades but with his retirement nearing he has settled in for the quiet life. When assassins of Duncan's calibre bed down for retirement they are paid out huge life insurance polices in the form of a retirement package; great for Duncan, costly for his soon to be former boss. Duncan's boss sets a ruthless team of assassins to hunt down and kill Duncan before Duncan's payout screws him out of a lucrative business deal. Duncan's retirement plans have just been altered. Stepping back into the game for one last mission, a personal one at that, Duncan faces off against the very people that he once allied with.

Aggressive, violent and exceptionally stylish, POLAR is the type of movie I personally keep an eye out for. I was pretty keen on this movie and I know a lot of friends who planned to watch it as well but now that it is here, is it worth your time? Time is valuable and you never get it back so find out in my short 7 minute review whether you should use the next 2 hours of your life watching POLAR or something far better.
