On Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol Being More Of A Reboot Than Sequel:

"It’s a rebirth for the series. In the same way with what they’ve done with Spider-Man. I feel like it’s a reinvigoration of this particular story. It was a series when it was on TV, so it’s a story that can have so many iterations. There are so many adventures to get into with this team of impossible mission fighters."

On New Cast Members Jeremy Renner And Paula Patton:

"Yes, Jeremy and Paula, and Tom goes without saying. I can honestly say that Jeremy and Paula are fantastic in this movie and it’s been a hoot working with them. They’re both such fun and both amazing. But I think the real key to this picture is Brad Bird who they brought in to direct."

On The Fact The Movie Will Be Directed By Someone With A Background In Animated Features:

"What they’ve done is they’ve brought in a director who’s never done live action before but who’s had a 100 percent hit rate for his previous movies: Ratatouille, The Incredibles, and The Iron Giant are all just five star films. Brad has just brought that sensibility to this film. And the fact that’s it’s Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, it’s not Mission Impossible 4."

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is set to be released on December 16, later this year!

@intruder: They probably made a good decision not to make Spidey 4 but why couldn't they have just let the franchise be.

Yeah, Spidey 4 would've sucked. Sam Raimi killed Spiderman 3.

The only thing that kept me from wanting a Spidey 4 was that Tobey was getting too old for the role. That and I thought SM3 didn't feel that open ended.
@intruder I agree about the reboot; I can imagine Sony seriously wanting to go Batman Begins with Spiderman.

i haven't got a problem with a reboot, but they could of just made spider-man 4 just rebooted the cast & crew.

So this is a reboot? Are they gonna tell the origin again or what? Its weird to have a reboot if Tom Cruise is still in it... can anyone feel me in?

This is like trying to call Ghost Writer a reboot. If Tom Cruise is still in it, people will see it for what it actual is; MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 4. They keep trying to use the reboot angle to imply that it's something new. They were trying to say that the Spider-man reboot was not really a reboot. They want to distance themselves from the original trilogy, but at the same time use it's steam and popularity. Doesn't really matter though. I doubt there will be a sequel after the Spider-man reboot. The way it looks so far, it will be rebooted after it's lack luster reception.

Yes and Neobaggins after that, the spider will probably be dead? Unless someone comes along...

Yeah @ INDRUDER... becoz the SPIDEY reboot don't look like its gonna suck ass lol with that sh1tty costume and Twilight hair cut!

Hopefully it wont but personally would have prefered Raimi to make up for 3... stick LIZARD an KRAVEN in wham!

Heh heh, damn it should have happened, yeah recast MJ tho lol.

Enough about Raimi's Spider-FAIL, okay? Lol.
Anyway, I like what this guy had to say about MI: Ghost Protocol. I mean, his experience with action doesn't exist, but then again... Nolan never did action before Batman, and Kevin "whatever his last name is" only directed music and dance videos before he did the MK: Rebirth, so we can't assume just off experience that someone can't pull off action.

Now on the other hand, Paula is fine as hell. I'm going to be jealous if I see Cruise get to kiss her, lol.

i think rather than a 'reboot' its more of a restyle, the mission impossible is obviously moving forward and weather jeremy renner does take the M:I reigns im predicting that this is cruises movie to pass on the central role.

Neobaggins@ how the frick can u think tht from 2 posters and a couple of setshots. Thts just stupid and retarded .... The bad reception lmao I'm sorry but Reading ure comment I haven't laughed tht much in a while. Seriously ure the type of fanboys tht give the rest of us a bad reputation.

connor110693 I'm glad you had a good laugh. It's nice to see guys like you being entertained by more than just car keys rattling these days. As for the "fanboy" statement, you guys really need to look into what the term actually means. I mean, everyone uses it as an insult, but ironically, it's primarily used by actual fanboys. A fanboy doesn't care what is done to a movie. They praise any move the director makes and any element of the film no matter how lame. If I foresee the SP reboot to have a bad reception, that's based on my personal experience with the info thus far- which is more than just "2 posters and a couple of setshots". Apparently, anyone with a camera phone can take pictures on the set at will and there are many. A whole scene basically. So yeah, if you're getting a "bad name", you're earning that on your own. Respect others opinions and piss off.

I AM [frick]ING SICK OF THE WORD REBOOT! ITS LOST ALL [frick]ING MEANING!

Reboots are gone through 3 different stages, rebooting a franchise because it was that beyond redemption that it needed a new start e.g. James Bond, Batman, Star Trek, Superman etc

The second stage was rebooting just for the sake of rebooting because they were lazy or they had no original ideas so they restarted an old franchise e.g. Spider-Man, Pink Panther, Nightmare on Elm Street, Karate Kid.

Now the third seems to be calling movies reboots even though they seem to be sequels with the same cast i.e. Ghost Rider, Mission Impossible

Michael Buble is right, Hollywood is truly dead

@marvel72
I agree with you, I wish we were just getting a Spidey 4 with a new cast & crew. [frick] THIS REBOOT! I hope Spidey fails so hard, we dont get a new Spidey movie for another 10/15 years, hopefully by Marvel Studios

Hollywood and all those who do "Reboots" are 'f ing us all, because like what's been said before, "They're running-out of ideas and they NEEd...no I mean: Drastickly NEED new Ideas; instead of this bullcrap!

of reboots, i meant. All up for Mission Impossible 4, but somone has to "take-over" for Cruise for "Cruise" who was Made for that part, like other actors are; then I'd be very sad.
