Another actor who made a surprise appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has taken to Twitter to address their much-discussed cameo in Sam Raimi's sequel. Spoilers ahead!

With Marvel Studios' latest MCU adventure, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, now in its second week on general release, the actors who made surprise appearances (well, some were spoiled in the trailers) have begun to comment on their respective roles in the movie.

We've already heard from Charlize Theron (who debuted in the mid-credits scene as Clea), and Anson Mount has now addressed his cameo as Black Bolt via the following Tweet.

"Finally able to discuss this w/out providing too many spoilers," said the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds actor. "Getting the call from Kevin Feige was one of the most unexpected of my life. It was an honor & joy to finally work w/ Sam Raime who reached out to engage me on how best to do this. Beyond grateful for the experience."

Mount previously played Black Bolt in the short-lived Inhumans TV series, so we imagine it must have been a genuine surprise to be asked to reprise the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character met a violent end along with his Illuminati teammates at the hand of The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), but the nature of the Multiverse means it might not have been the last we see of this take on Blackagar Boltagon.

What did you guys make of Black Bolt's role and somewhat unceremonious end in Doctor Strange 2?

Great casting for an awful TV Show (damn Marvel TV) but I 100% would love to see a soft reboot of sorts within the MCU with him returning. He is awesome.

@Menks123 - Only two things really stood out for me from that tv show: Mount's reaction to cops telling Black Bolt he had the right to remain silent --

And that the writers had a 50/50 shot at figuring out why he's named "Maximus the Mad" and they picked wrong.

@Menks123 - from what I remember, I liked all of the cast, and none of the show.

@Manmarvel - Yeahhh there was some good actors there. Just sucks that Marvel TV was so hit or miss and weird canonically.

What an absolute mess of a show....that also needs to have a substantial budget and not on ABC lmao.

@Reeds2Much - The moment that stood out to me was when he started running during that cop scene, because I was watching it with my mom and out of nowhere she just said "He kinda runs like a pussy."

@Menks123 - They needed the budget of a Paramount+ Star Trek show. Those shows are stunning.

@comicfan100 - Not the biggest Star Trek fan, but from what i've seen they have some VERY good visuals!

That costume though. Whenever they get around to properly introduce the Inhumans in the MCU they need to use that exact same Black Bolt costume.

@Spidey91 - They costume was good and comic accurate, but for some reason the helmet looked weird and didn't seem to fit him that well. Maybe it's just me though.

The helmet was just barely wrong. It made his head look too small

"Black Bolt can tell you where your kids are. Black Bolt..." is what Krasichards should've said...but I understand he was trying to defuse the situation and give her a chance first, plus he probably wasn't expecting her to be that mindblowingly powerful lol

That was one of my favorite moments of the film. Black Bolt was a favorite as a kid and to see him whisper "I'm Sorry" and destroy Strange was awesome beyond belief. I also loved the almost manic look on his face which was in total contrast to the crapshow representation on that horrid TV show, which proved that Perlmutter and the rest of the Marvel TV folks should never be permitted to touch another Marvel IP again.

How cool is it that not only does he get a proper costume and an overwhelmingly warm reception from the fans, but that his reintroduction was handled by non other than Sam Raimi!

I want him and Iwan Rheon back for an Inhumans reboot. Everyone else can be recast. Maybe Medusa too but I've always imagined Jessica Chastain, Bryce Dallas Howard or Amy Adams in that role.

@MCUKnight11 - It seems like Eternals has taken the place of Eternals in the MCU lineup
MCUKnight11
MCUKnight11 - 5/17/2022, 2:16 PM
@Ha1frican - Then why put Black Bolt in a movie when you could've had Balder or Superior iron man in his place?
Ha1frican
Ha1frican - 5/17/2022, 2:56 PM
@MCUKnight11 - Bc to get either RDJ or Tom Cruise would be way more expensive and harder to hide, and BB has already been seen in live action in a famously memes to death project so there’s more recognition there for the average person than Baldur
