Talking in a video shared during Sony's CCXP panel over the weekend, Morbius star Jared Leto teased the fallout from Spider-Man: No Way Home and how that could lead to a "sinister" team-up down the line.

While we're still hoping the Sinister Six somehow factors into Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's beginning to look like Tom Holland's Peter Parker will only face five villains in the movie.

Why? We'd bet on Sony Pictures saving the Sinister Six for their own movie somewhere down the line (that or Spider-Man 6). Regardless, Morbius star Jared Leto has again hinted at the group's eventual introduction during a recent promo for the movie shared during the weekend's CCXP event.

"In the film version of Morbius we're bringing to you now, he's also part of a much larger universe," the Oscar-winner teases in the video below. "If you've seen the latest Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, you know, the Multiverse has officially opened. There [are] all kinds of opportunities for villains to meet up, thrive, and maybe even nurture their more sinister intents."

It appears that Spider-Man: Homecoming villain Adrian Toomes (a.k.a. The Vulture) is somehow pulled into Sony's Spider-Man Universe following the events of No Way Home, and that could be what leads to the criminal crossing paths with the Living Vampire. Another possibility, of course, is that this Toomes is a Variant, though we're not sure how Sony would go about explaining that.

Morbius is set to be released in theaters (finally) on January 28, 2022.

Well, if you have seen the "LOKI" series you know the multiverse has officially opened, but I get where Jared is coming from.

With the MCU bringing us Blade, I was quietly hoping that Sony would bring us a movie style that could potentially transition over to join the likes of Blade, Ghost Rider and the rest of the Midnight Sons - these recent trailers and clips for Morbius have me optimistic about this potential future joint Marvel / Sony crossover.
The marketing has not been good for this movie, I have a feeling it'll be one of those movies that the general public miss at the movies but discover later - but being its coming out in late January without much competition, maybe it'll surprise us and do well. Remember the first Blade movie didn't do particularly well at the box office, but is now considered a classic take on the character (despite them making Blade an American rather than the comic accurate British character) Indeed, most people who watched the Blade movies, didn't even know he is a Marvel character.

I think you will find Morbius was always part of the mainstream MCU. As even in the new Spiderman trailer Dr Strange says that they all have to go back. So all the villains etc (Maguire and Garfield) have to go back to their own universe by the end of the film even SPOILER Venom (at least the Tom Hardy version) but Morbius from day one of their trailer release has shown that the MCU version of vulture (Keaton) has always been in this movie.

Honestly don't see Morbius being a significant part of any MCU movie. When Sony are left to their own devices their Marvel movies are still average.

Even the rumour regarding Venom is that some symbiote gets left in the MCU but Eddie and Sony-Venom go back to their own "verse". Marvel are producing Spider-man films for the wider MCU whilst Sony earns the $, Marvel are not going to put time and effort into improving Sony's other characters for nothing

Yeuck. I hate that Keaton’s fantastic Vulture is getting tainted by touching this piece of crap. I mean I love vampires like you wouldn’t believe, I’ve been obsessed with Buffy and Angel since I was a kid, among other vampire stories. The fact that I’m not excited for a Spiderman universe vampire movie? Says alot. This thing stinks of the same uninspired boardroom assembled steel blue-tinted early 2000s garbage as Venom. And Jared Leto is the worst. Not to mention the godawful CGI on Morbius. Wtf? He’s a vampire, the effects on his face would be SO EASY to do practically. But he looks cheap and CGI even on the goddamn posters! His teeth look like digitally rendered plastic. I don’t get it. Spike from Buffy’s makeup from 1998 looked almost the same except the missing nose, but it was practical, on a tiny tv budget, and looked fantastic.

And turning Morbius into some Dracula Untold antihero is an uninspired and stupid idea anyway.

Sorry, these Sony projects bring out the worst in me, I was so appalled by Venom 2 and am still bitter. How do you make such turgid crap with Andy freakin Serkis directing and Tom Hardy starring? And people LIKE it?!

I only hope Marvel Studios get creative license to reboot Venom when he hits the MCU with a non ridiculous take still starring Hardy.

I assume that vampires in the MCU will be very similar to Morbius design in this.
Full CGI to distance reality from horror, something WB mandated for the Hobbit movies and the Orc designs to maintain a child-friendly touch.

Don't care about Morbius as a character tbh, he's always been one of the more mediocre characters for me. Especially in his Spider-Man appearances (which this seems modeled after) he was more of a edgy boy than a real threat.

Can't wait for Deacon Frost and Dracula though

Favourite vampire characters in Marvel comics
1. Blade
2. Morbius
3. Baron Blood (Invaders / Union Jack comics)
4. Dracula (from the Tomb of Dracula comics)

Anyone else got a favourite vampire character?

I just want a classic Sinister Six line up. The idea of Morbius being on the S6 doesn't feel right.
