WANDAVISION Stunt Casting Confirms Plans For An Action Scene... Featuring A Coven Of Witches!

Some new stunt casting for WandaVision reveals plans for a sequence revolving around a Coven of witches - a sign perhaps that Agatha Harkness will indeed be part of the highly anticipated Disney+ series...

Like most Marvel Studios projects, WandaVision is shrouded in secrecy. From what little we've seen of the Disney+ series, we know that it will mostly take place in a series of sitcom-style settings as the Scarlet Witch lives out her dream life alongside the Vision (who was killed by Thanos - twice - in Avengers: Infinity War).

However, the presence of S.W.O.R.D. has confirmed that there will be scenes which take place outside that fantasy world, and some stunt casting now confirms plans for a big action sequence.

According to iStunt, stunt double Nicole Reddinger has joined WandaVision as a "Witch Coven Member." Set photos actually revealed that Coven last year, and it looked like it was potentially being led by Karthryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness, a character previously described by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige as a "nosy neighbour" in the Disney+ series.

WandaVision is going to lead directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so chances are these witches are manipulating Wanda Maximoff on behalf of an unseen villain. Nightmare, perhaps?

We'll have to wait and see, but it's clear that the show is going to take us - and the Scarlet Witch - to a lot of very unexpected places. With any luck, more footage from WandaVision will be released soon, especially as it currently remains on track for a December premiere on the Disney+ streaming service.

Dont know much of marvel’s occult stuff outside of whats been shown in film and television, so this could be interesting, depending on how far they are going to take it

Wanda has lost everything, it would be interesting how she copes with it all in the show, expecting a Quicksilver to have a surprise role in this.

@JustALurker - Yeah. Depending where it picks up after Endgame, to her losing Vision just happened.

Some actual witchcraft in the MCU would be fantastic. Yes, there’s magic in the form of Doctor Strange, but covens of witches sounds so [frick]ing interesting

@Necropolitan - "Witch Coven Member."
... so will Samantha and Endora from Bewitched be part of the show since they are doing retro TV?

I hear Hawkeye is pretty good at dispatching witches, of the evil variety

In the comics, Wanda becomes pregnant by channeling the power of an entire settlement of witches and using the raw magic to achieve her greatest wish.

Heck yeah, just what I wanted to see, Wanda learning witchcraft from Agatha Harkness in addition to the powers she already has and truly becoming the Scarlet Witch.

Nando had an EXCELLENT video about Scarlet Witch and how her story moving forward could potentially be the biggest.

Witches were created by Chthon the Elder God, the first sorcerer, who also imbued Wanda with a fraction of his essence at birth, giving her the ability to wield his Chaos Magic.

The magic Strange uses is driven by knowledge and the mind, the magic Wanda uses is driven by emotion and will. Order Magic was created by Oshtur, and Chaos Magic was created by rival and nemesis, her brother, Chthon.
Wanda lost a brother, Strange lost a sister. For both, pain is an old friend. Both are lonely. They are mystical siblings, and Wanda, in using the power of Chthon for good, is not unlike the Ancient One. Note that "Scarlet" means forbidden or sinful.

Strange and the sorcerers of Kamar Taj are not aware of Wanda using magic because Agamotto (Chthon's nephew) the first sorcerer supreme, destroyed all knowledge of Chaos Magic with a lie, believing it would weaken Chthon.

If you are delving into Wanda's past, who she is, for her Chthon is the most personal and challenging villain. Chthon also created Vampires and Werewolves, and co-created Zombies.
Chthon operates in the shadows, and is mostly unseen, but his personal investment in Wanda brings him out into the open. Note that The Other, who gave Loki the scepter, strongly resembled the depiction of Chthon in the comics, and even is listed in the credits as The Other, the name that Chthon's avatar often goes by.

Chthon's pursuit of Wanda alerts SWORD to his existence and threat, leading to them perhaps hunting Vampires and encountering Blade. SWORD being involved suggests they may well be fighting an enemy who has forces on Earth. Chthon has minions and followers in the physical realm that Nightmare and Mephisto do not.

Marc Spector claims to be the avatar of Khonshu, a claim that would be dismissed...except if it was learnt that Wanda is an avatar of Chthon.

Another key point here is that Wanda learning witchcraft fundamentally changes her; it empowers her and gives her renewed purpose. She truly becomes the Scarlet Witch.

Vision said to Wanda, "It's alright, I'll just feel you". If Chthon broke off a part of himself to give Wanda a fraction of his power, perhaps Wanda broke off a part of herself when she touched the cradle in Age of Ultron (notice that Vision started "dreaming" when she did), and when the mind stone was destroyed, the shard of Chaos Magic from Wanda returned to her soul, and thus Vision is present in her perfect world pocket dimension resulting from her subconscious. The Russo Brothers said Vision became fully human in his final moments, and his emotions took him back to the person he wanted to be with and comfort; Wanda.
I don't think Vision is imaginary, he is real within Wanda's world; there are IMHO thus two fragments; Chthon and Vision, in Wanda's world.
