A fan's attempt at writing a new theme for the classic Batman: The Animated Series!

As a bit of fun I've had a go at writing a new theme to the classic Batman: The Animated Series opening sequence. Obviously, NOTHING can compare to the original so I tried to do something completely different and slightly more contemporary. It would be great to hear what other fans think (good and bad feedback is great!).

I intend to do a few of these if I have time so if people have suggestions for other projects, suggestions are very welcome.

I frowned very slowly at this, then glared...

But good music none the less

I know what you mean about the style- I always kind of felt that the show had a timeless feel with the strange mix of tech and old fashioned designs. For that reason, I thought that MAYBE you could stick that cool footage with most styles and it would still be effective. Great to hear your feedback though, so thanks!

great score, just wrong style. i could see this working for a new batman beyond like @joker pointed out, or even a nightwing series.

You guys aren't alone when it comes to thinking of Batman Beyond upon hearing this but I think that's probably because this is such a nice modern update of the original. I like it man.

The music sounded good, just not for this incarnation of Batman. With the heavy drum beats, the whole thing came across so upbeat! I always loved the more underlying, somber aspect of the original. There was even a kinda sadness in the quicker tempo, adventurous parts of the song. I don't know how to explain it. lol Other than that, not bad!

It was hard to watch this and not think of the original intro score. But, pulling myself away from that (as hard as it was), it was great. Like most have already said, it just doesn't fit the style of the show. Batman Beyond immediately sprang to mind, like most. I did enjoy this a lot though. I really feared that "contemporary" would equal dubstep. I bloody hate dubstep! But this was a good drum-heavy rock intro with a nice bit of whimsical Danny Elfman in there at the beginning. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks guys! It's awesome to hear your thoughts. I'm considering tackling some other intros, if anyone has any suggestions? And thanks also to whoever gave it a thumbs up.

I like it. I feel that this would not fit for Batman Beyond not modern enough, maybe a dub step version would. I think this is great and would work well if the theme wasn't already tattooed into our brains.
