I don't understand why the [frick] you would not get Bruce Timm to help adapt live action DC movies. The guy has been around for years and has helped produce the best DC animated series and films. Marvel has Kevin Feige and DC needs one and I believe Bruce Timm is that guy. I wish DC would hire me because I would immediately get a sit down with Bruce Timm and come up with a plan to bring these characters to life.

Im a HUGE fan of Batman... But this is my least fav version... siiiigh. Wish they would have done a new animated short to pick up right after TDK to tie into TDKR or something like that.

Looks a'ight. Mutant leaders nipples are like Schumacher on steroids at some dodgy EBM club. I wonder, is that Son of Batman Rob or Don?
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 6/1/2012, 10:54 AM
Surely we won't be seeing that Sons of Batman design until part 2, right?
ProjectionistPHiLL@ Checkout Gotham Knight, if you haven't already.

Looks like it could be cool but Frank Miller's rants as well as DK2 and All Star Batman and Robin have hurt my original love for the book.

It's also very eighties from the conflict with the Russians to the President makes me wonder how it will translate or if it will be Watchmen style and just use the same politics.

@DukeAcureds Ya i own it! Kinda what I was wanting again. But maybe instead of 6 different stories I just wanted like 1 lol Make it Justice League animation with Kevin Conroy voicing. Heck, be a good way to "Kill off" thejoker in the animated short. So as to why he is not in TDKR! I would have LOVED that! <-- Just A Fan Boy Dream.

This animate movie will be made again in some years time. Zack Snyder was up for it wasn't he?

@Just1Superguy I have seen the graphic novel it is based on, but that doesn't change the fact that I dislike this design for Batman. His size is too much. In my mind, the bulk would take away from his stealth. Just never been a fan of this format. Especially that very very odd Batman symbol on his chest.
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 6/2/2012, 3:42 AM
@Jollem - Agreed. Year One was good, but taking out the cigerettes and cocaine was just distracting.
Rhino4508@ "Very, very odd Batman symbol on his chest"? Wow. Has it been this long since it was entirely replaced by thegolden age emblem? Now it looks "Very, very odd" to the younger generation?
AlReg@ Frank Millers recent rants have put me off him, too. But DK2 and All Star Batman and Robin are funny as all Hell. If you like Miller's humour, I don't know how you can't like these. Okay, so ASB&R is a complete (and still unfinished) mess, but DK2 is brilliant. really, I know it's had a lot of hate for being so radically different from the original, but I swear to God, we will all one day realise that we made such a terrible mistake in dismmissing it. It's [frick]ing awesome.

Who are all you people that have never read the dark knight returns? Its a fricking classic, and one of the reasons "Graphic Novels" are so accepted now.(whether thats a good thing or not).

Go Read It. Im sure its at your local Library. Philistines!

@DukeAcureds

I think the logo looks odd just because it's not the suit he wears in the graphic novel. It's suppose to be really dark and gritty and yet for some reason, they went with the yellow oval design.

Doesn't fit right.
Rhino4508
Rhino4508 - 6/2/2012, 9:33 AM
@DukeAcureds The graphic novel's Batman in The Dark Knight returns has a ridiculous looking symbol on his chest. It looks like a block with little points coming out of it at the top and bottom. This new movie's symbol looks like the symbol from BTAS. All I am saying is I am not a fan of this version of Batman. His size is just a bit much in my opinion and Robin looks like a chick.

And don't try to belittle my opinion with that bull shit "younger generation" crap.

seamuskeaneart - 6/3/2012, 4:32 AM
@Rhino4508, Robin is a chick in the Dark Knight Returns.

@Kalel219, he has the yellow symbol in Dark Knight Returns. They even explain the reason behind the yellow oval. it gives criminals something to shoot at that isnt his face. The oval has body armour, his face not so much.

@seamuskeaneart

I'm sorry. Since when is Robin a girl? Four Robins in all of DCdom (Grayson, Todd, Drake, Wayne), and yet a girl was Robin in The Dark Knight Returns? As if the fact that I greatly despised the artwork in Miller's TDKR weren't enough keeping me from actually reading his work, now you just put the final nail in the coffin. Also, when did the yellow oval appear in DKR? Everything I have seen of DKR (The comics, figurines, B:AC DLC skin) all have that same ridiculous bat-brick symbol.
Rhino4508
Rhino4508 - 6/3/2012, 10:40 AM
@seamuskeaneart

Not trying to hate on one of your favorites just saying, this is why I never spent the money on it. Truth be told my favorite Batman is the blue/grey suit from earlier comics. Also, I do like that explanation of the oval rather than just being connected to the batsignal.
