Set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, Brave stars Kelly Macdonald as Merida, the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida's quest — and serving as comic relief — are the kingdom’s three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane).

Brave will be released into theaters on June 22nd, 2012!

Wait... so Monsters University and Brave are coming out in the same year? Disney must be amping Pixar's budget.

Monsters University was set to come out in in 2012 but it got moved to 2013 and Brave took that place.

@ComicsCommando Actually, Brave was already scheduled for a summer 2012 release before Monsters got moved from Nov. 2012 to June 2013.
And what @RedSkull said, this is probably another one of Pixar's techniques, where the film idea seemed weird but the movie itself rocked. Like with Up....when I first heard of the film, I had little interest, but I watched it and it's now one of my fav. films of all time. So I'll give this thing a chance.

It could be called Let's Watch Paint Dry and I'd still happily buy a ticket so long as it's Pixar.

LOL, so true. I've loved all of Pixar's films except for Ratatouille.

The only original Pixar movie out in the next couple of years and the only one Im looking forward to.

I mean a Cars sequel and Monsters Inc prequel, wtf? Not needed at all. And the question everyone keeps asking, especially me, where the hell is the Incredibles sequel, the one movie that could both be a cash-cow and a non pointless franchise

@RexDartEskimoSpy

Ditto lol
