Roger Rabbit 2 1998 Animation Test

Roger Rabbit 2 1998 Animation Test

Back in 1998 -- a decade after the release of the original -- an animation test was done for Roger Rabbit 2, a project that director Robert Zemeckis still hasn't ruled out. It's a quick but intriguing clip showcasing how technology had changed in that 10 year period.

That was pretty damn cool. Although I think Roger Rabbit is better off as just one movie, but a sequel by the same cast and crew would've been cool. But yet, Bob Hoskins is too old for role now, if they were to do one now, so Idk how that can work. =/ (I'm not saying that as a bad thing that he's old, just I would expect seeing Roger Rabbit 2 taking place right after the events of the first movie)

Well, if they were to make a sequel you could advance in the number of years that have passed, which would move events from the 1940s to the 1960s. Wow, just had an image pop into my head of Roger wearing a headband adorned with a peace sign -- where the hell did that come from?

I think the difference is in how even more seamless the practical effects mixed with the animation are 10 years after filming the original.

Also, teabag, that ain't a bad idea. Clever title, too. Not sure how Disney would feel about CGI being seen as the villain though since they do their own CGI animated films and not just with Pixar. But then again, I could see it happening if it were just one bad apple of a computer generated cartoon looking to destroy the hand drawn. Like if the Judge Doom cartoon suddenly was found to be re-born as a CGI to get revenge.

Maybe dip has been altered so that when a toon is "killed," they're resurrected as zombie CGI versions of themselves.

Awesome.

The movie was kind of a hit as I recall. I don't see why they would be reluctant to make another one.

I LOVED Rodger Rabbit back in the day. This, "Back to the Future," and "Death Becomes Her" made Robert Zemeckis one of my favorite directors. I'd love to see a sequel happen someday.

Roger Rabbit remains as one of my all-time favorite movies. I'd love to see a sequel, as long as Zemeckis is the one doing it.

It would be fun to see the story done in the 50s or 60s, when TV animation was coming in, and soaring costs really changed the game for cartoons of all kinds. There is all kinds of stuff there that is ripe for parody.
