When WarnerMedia and Discovery merged, Warner Bros. transformed into Warner Bros. Discovery. The overhauled studio wasted no time in making sweeping changes from how things had been run, dialling back spending on HBO Max and pulling the plug on a number of upcoming, very nearly finished, movies.
Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt were among those cancelled as tax write-offs despite the fact both were almost finished, showing a level of ruthlessness that stunned even Hollywood.
Now, another of those scrapped movies, Scooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too!, has leaked online in its entirety. We won't be sharing it here for obvious reasons, but as Toonado.com first reported, it appeared on 4chan before being saved and uploaded across the internet.
Clocking in at 78 minutes, the direct-to-DVD feature (meaning it wasn't a theatrical release) had been expected to release last Fall.
The timing of this leak is certainly interesting as it comes the same day Warner Bros. Discovery quietly confirmed its decision to cancel the HBO Max/Cartoonito animated series Scooby-Doo! and the Mystery Pups.
This isn't the first Scooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too! leak as images from the movie found their way online last year, confirming plans for Scooby-Doo to team up with Krypto the Superdog and the Legion of Super-Heroes. It's widely believed that the team would be based on the version from the animated series that ran from 2006-2007.
It's a shame we didn't get to see an official release for this one, especially as it boasts an all-star voice cast that includes Frank Welker, Grey Griffin, Matthew Lillard, Kate Micucci, P.J. Byrne, Victoria Grace, Charles Halford, Nolan North, Tara Strong, Fred Tatasciore, James Arnold Taylor, and Niccole Thurman.
Warner Bros. Discovery taking tax write-downs on movies like this one means they can't ever be officially released, though we're sure many of you might now be hoping Batgirl is also leaked. Scooby-Doo! and the Haunted High Rise, which was set to feature the return of the Hex Girls, also ended up being scrapped, so we may be more likely to see that surface somewhere.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled to Toonado.com for the latest updates.
