The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Warner Bros.' upcoming animated Scooby-Doo feature, which will be the first Scooby movie to be released theatrically since 2004, has added Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth), Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Tracy Morgan (30 Rock), and Frank Welker (Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!).

The veteran Welker will return to voice the titular Great Dane, while Forte will bring his best friend Shaggy Rogers to life. Rodriguez will voice Velma Dinkley, the brains of the operation, and in an unexpected turn of events, Morgan will be playing Captain Caveman.

According to their report, the story will see the fan-favorite Mystery Inc. gang join forces with other heroes of the Hanna-Barbera universe to save the world from Dick Dastardly and his latest evil plot.

Tony Cervone (Scooby-Doo! And Kiss: Rock and Roll Mystery) is directing the animated feature with Chris Columbus, Charles Roven, and Allison Abbate on board as producers.

The film is set to open May 15, 2020.

...
Huh...
As a Hanna-Barbera fanatic, I’m intrigued.
Honesty, I’d love a Scooby-Doo Netflix series.
Something like a mix of Riverdale and Supernatural set in the late 60’s/early 70’s.

@kRAVENklaw - Me too! I’m a huge Scooby-Doo fan. And Captain Freakin Caveman are you kidding me?!?

@ElJefe -
If they add QuickDraw McGraw I just may cry.
Have you read the Hanna-Barbera and DC crossovers?

@kRAVENklaw - Yes a few - and liked them mostly. The HB characters being handled more realisticly threw me off a bit but they were cool. I liked Black Lightening and Hong Kong Phooey!

@kRAVENklaw - I was curious if they were going to introduce them in Riverdale for a small, few episodes arc. In my mind, They would be ghost hunters coming into town, to explore some local haunted place. end catching a bad guy in a mask.

@ElJefe -
They’re definitely weird but very entertaining.
My favorite of the bunch is Yogi Bear/Deathstroke.

@Capfan82 -
That’d make for a good Halloween special.
Maybe make the Creeper the villain.
I thought they were gonna introduce them after Josie and the Pussycats, but I forgot that they were originally an Archie property.

It seems like DC is wrapping their HB stuff up, which is saddening.
Hopefully they do a Scooby and Batman book before they end.

@kRAVENklaw - I may or may not admit to reading Scooby-Doo Team-Up once in awhile if the guest spots are cool

I don’t know if I’d prefer a singular movie or a multi part series though.

Will they bring back Scrappy Doo. If they don't I not going to see it
batman001
batman001 - 3/2/2019, 1:05 AM
@dreamactor - i can't see that happening since Warner Bros knows that the core fanbase hates the character

@batman001 - That's unfortunate because I love Scrappy. Them making him the bad guy in the live action movie really left a bad taste in my mouth.
shadowspider9
shadowspider9 - 3/2/2019, 1:25 PM
@batman001 - The problem with Scrappy is that he only really works with just him, Shaggy, and Scooby.
He is the opposite extreme to their cowardness and serves to keep them from on track.
That isn't a problem when the rest of the gang is there so he becomes useless.
batman001
batman001 - 3/3/2019, 8:49 AM
@shadowspider9 - yeh which is when he also becomes annoying as hell which is a shame because he's the one who saved the franchise
