The Lego Movie sequel has a release date. The followup to Warner Bros. smash hit will land on May 26 2017! Warner Bros. made the announcement today after the film crossed 200 million dollars worldwide! The studio have drafted in Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan on screenwriting duties. Right now it's unknown whether Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt will return on voice duties alongside Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman.

What do you think? Does The Lego Movie need (or deserve) a second installment? Sign off your thoughts in the usual place!

An ordinary guy named Emmet (Chris Pratt) is mistaken as being the Master Builder, the one who can save the universe. With the aid of an old mystic Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman), a tough young lady named Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), and Batman (Will Arnett), Emmet will fight to defeat the evil tyrant Lord Business (Will Ferrell) who is bent on destroying the universe by gluing it together.

Ah man. I don't think this movie needs a sequel. The first one was GREAT though.

WHAT ABOUT DC MOVIES, WARNER????

[frick].

i don't even like Marvel that much(therefore, MARVEL STUDIOS is overrated as [frick]) but I Just can't deny Warner lack of struggle to put DC on the [frick]ing map of CBMs.

The Dark Knight trilogy and MoS still beat the crap out of Marvel movies though.

^ Do you know how long it takes to animate a movie?

Also this movie won't be that good. No Phil Lord & Chris Miller and the movie will suffer. Just look at Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

The ending and it's correlation with the real world really took me out of it and made me depressed and sad for both Emmet and that little kid....haven't felt an emotional impact from a film like that since Furngully. 2017 is too far off.

They better bring back Phil Lord and Chris Miller for this.

If they don't, WB can go burn in [frick]ing hell. You don't start off a franchise with talent, take that way, and aim for the same success.

Seriously, Lord and Miller or [frick] off.

yeah, they better get the directors back, or it just won't be the same.

@Richard although I enjoy both comic parties what Marvel has done in the past six years alone has been phenomenal. I agree they've had some misses but most if not all have been major hits with a strong majority of people. Their risks have spawn other companies to follow suit with their properties as well. I would say that their rating has great merit.

All of Marvels films will be classics since try were the first to do a Cinematic universe like they have.

DC purists will continue to hate on Marvel films till 2016 to be honest

Marvel is better when it comes to bringing their characters to the big screen, thats fact

DC has the best animation and currently TV series

That's how it is

Essentially... "Marvel films have humor, therefore they are comedies and not comic book movies, therefore WB has better comic book movies."

What a stupid cop out. Some people are insane enough to convince themselves of dumb bullshit like that.

If that's your opinion than that's cool!

You just have to wait 2 more years till you like another CBM, because the next few will have comedy in in them, this you won't like them

I like the Marvel movies because they are "Fun" something that DC Movies aren't where is the fun or the light moments because the DC Movies are too serious .

I'm just happy DC is finally moving forward with their properties in a massive way. but they should seriously consider splitting from Warner and forming their own studio to handle the movies themselves.

Watchmen has got to be the greatest one they've done that had the same grit and visual of the comic. But DC and Marvel have always had different styles when it came to their stories respectively.

The movie was excellent....but not every sucessful movie needs a sequel.

Lego Movie gets a 5/5 from me. Two Thumbs Up.

The idea of a sequel gets a big thumbs down though.
