Grammy Award-winning performer Lizzo announced that she'd be lending her voice to the season 34 finale of The Simpsons last week, and we now have a first look at the two characters she'll play in the episode.

"Homer's Adventure Through the Windshield Glass" sounds like it's going to be one of the more bizarre instalments of the long-running animated comedy series, as the entire episode takes place in the few seconds that Homer goes flying through the windshield of his car.

"We had this idea for a long time, and it always felt like a pipe dream, but then we figured out a way to do it," executive producer Tim Long tells EW. "Then the issue from a story point of view is: 'Who is he going to talk to?' We thought, 'Well, his incredibly messy car is going to be filled with children's toys and stuff.' So she's playing this happy little elf doll that comes to life and becomes his spirit guide."

Lizzo voices the elf, but also appears as herself towards the end of the episode.

Of course, you can't invite Lizzo to be a guest star on The Simpsons and not have her belt out a tune, and Long also revealed that she'll be singing an original song called "It Was Marge, Bitch."

"I can't give you too much context without giving you too much story," says Long, who penned the song in question. "But it is really in her wheelhouse — and she sang the hell out of it."

The season 34 finale of The Simpsons airs this May.

The Simpsons was awesome until season 12. After that there's some sparingly good episodes but mostly bad ones.

I bet this episode will by as cringy as Lady Gaga's one.

I can confidently say I haven’t willingly watched a new episode of the Simpsons in nearly ten years. I just watch the first 6-7 seasons on repeat. The new stuff is just so bland and uninspired.

It boggles my mind that enough people are still watching the 34th season of the Simpsons to justify it continuing.

As a kid, I loved the first 10 or so seasons but haven’t thought about it in 20 years.

The show went through a terrible period, but I have to say, the writing has improved over the past couple of years. It's nowhere close to being as good as it was back in the day, but you'll get the occasional funny ep.

Saw the article and said to myself "ok we're about to get "Simpsons hasn't been good in years". "How do people still watch it" "How is this comic book movie news" "lizzo hate"

3 out of 4 isn't bad, but 4 is coming

@AnthonyVonGeek - plus the Lizzo design looks thin I wonder if the Simpsons will eventually be called “fatphobic” for making her thinner then what she really is.
