I'm usually a purist when it comes to adaptations of my favorite heroes--and Thor is one of them--but I dig the new look of his helmet!

I like his helmet but I would have like it if they used his new costume

@ShadowMan: I think the chainmail armor would have presented a problem for the animators.

his helmet has a spike on it...thats bad-ass

@Brent...thats true because they would have to keep the chain mail on track. how it moves and designed without losing continuity

There was an interview on Marvel.com some months ago where they said they went with this costume because the new one was in fact difficult to animate correctly because of the mail on the arms.

Disneyfied Thor needs a talking animal sidekick...maybe the hammer will smile and do a dance...

Somehow it doesn't feel right -- those stylized metal wings. The Vikingness of THOR has diminished somehow. Why is everybody having a hard time using actual feathered wings on Thor and Capt. America?

I love it, seems to me they could of done his costume just like this for the live action movie.

The only thing that may have been a bit of a challenge would be the boots, but they could easily be done, just make them some type of golden material. They could of muted the gold color down so it wouldn't look so shiny.

I think going more traditional would of looked better than what they ended up with for the live action movie. It just doesn't look enough like the comic book Thor to me!

As I've posted before, with the live action costume, where's his wristbands, his knee protectors, his ankle wraps?

I like the more old school traditional look.

i confirm HULK2099 's comment...

i dig this more than the other characters. he looks closer to the original than say iron man...

Agreed with Hulk2099 and HelaGood.

Connielingos: The stylized wings are easier to animate and fit the overall "look" of the show better than detailed feathered wings would. I personally don't think the stylized wings distract from the costume's appearance at all.

Excellent! Looks solid! The distortions are slightly reminiscent of Walt Simonson's style!
