I have a feeling one(maybe more) of the episodes in the upcoming seasons will probably feature Winter Soldier. On that day I'll probably die of happiness (if they get it right) :)

Time to clarify some things

Only the first two episodes and the last one will be new footage

ep 1 & 2
"The Breakout" (Part 1 and Part 2) - all new episode to start the series

ep 3
"Iron Man is Born" - A compilation of the micro-series episodes "Iron Man is Born!", "HYDRA Lives!", "Behold, the Mandroids!", and "Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.".

ep 4
"Thor the Mighty" - A compilation of the micro-series episodes "Thor the Mighty", "The Siege of Asgard", "My Brother, My Enemy", and "The Isle of Silence".

ep 5
"Hulk Versus the World" - A compilation of the micro-series episodes "The Coming of the Hulk", "Hulk Versus the World", "This Monster, This Hero", and "Beware the Widow's Bite".

ep 6
"Meet Captain America" - A compilation of the micro-series episodes "Meet Captain America", "The Red Skull Strikes!", "If This Be Doomsday!", and "Lo, There Shall Come a Conqueror"

ep 7
"The Man in the Ant Hill" - A compilation of the micro-series episodes "The Man in the Ant Hill", "Enter the Whirlwind", "Welcome to Wakanda", and "The Big House".

ep 8
"Some Assembly Required" - new footage to close the first season.

As for Wolverine, the last series "Wolverine and the X-Men" had no ties to Fox so i guess they can use how ever they want in animation.. plus you'll note that the new Ultimate Spider-Man series is airing on Disney XD too so you never know we might get crossovers

Mutants, FF and the wall crawler are fair game in the animated universe.

@Jojo: "Was that Wolverine we saw fighting with Cap during WWII?"
Yes.

"If so, does marvel own all the rights of their animated characters?"
For animated TV series' yes. Wolverine and other X-Men have been on the Superhero Squad Show and the Black Panther show. Characters from the Fantastic Four (especially Silver Surfer and Dr. Doom) exsist in the Superhero Squad Show, not to mention She-Hulk and Ant-Man have been characters in the series "Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes". They plan to make an X-Men, Wolverine and Blade segment for their Marvel Anime show. For characters like Daredevil, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider, I'm not certain though.

"is this also true for the new animated Avenger series?
I mean, Spiderman, Wolverine, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are all Avengers." Yes, but they became Avengers later in the comics, and this series seems to be going in order if these episodes are consisting of the original 5 (although Caps there, but that's probably to promote their upcoming movie).

I don't know where everyone is getting their information on The Avengers Animated series, but these first 20 micro episodes are going to be shown next week on XD 11-15th as a lead in to the regular series which premieres on the 20th with the breakout 2 parter! These episodes ARE NOT PART OF THE REGULAR EPISODES! There will be a full first season comprise of 26 episodes!

Doccaliban: I could swear I remember seeing something on this site a few months back when they were discussing that there were 26 episodes for this first season. I believe it was an interview with the creators of the show, who indicated that they had the first season in the can ready to roll (or close to it, anyway). Maybe someone more adept than I at searching this site can tell me if my memory is correct here.

XD is running some kind of Avengers thing Monday evening at 7:30 (8:30 est). This will probably be some combination of the microepisodes, maybe what Paulley is describing. It's part of "Avengers Week" to promote the debut of the show.

As for this micro, or whatever you want to call it, this may be the best one yet! What a great story! I could nitpick that I'd rather see Cap and Bucky on a rocket after Zemo, but I can live with this version because it does the important things that needed to be accomplished- the seeming death of Bucky (though I've got a feeling we haven't seen the last of him) and Cap winding up as a popsicle. So how will he be brought into modern times? I'm hoping for the classic "return origin" of Cap, or some version of it. Absolutely LOVED the cameo by Kang the Conqueror at the end. One of my favorite Avengers villains!

@comicb00kguy:

Your right, after some more research that is only the schedule until the end of this month. There are 52 episodes commissioned 26 of those are the second season which the voice acting is already being done.

The schedule for the rest of the first season hasnt been released yet.

conformist21 - 10/7/2010, 4:17 PM
ha, it seemed like bucky just stayed on to be kewl, he did divert or stop the rocket right?

that was a great ep, i'd really like the cap movie to end with that,
that'd be great, i was feeling mushy just with this one, and it isn't that big of a scale.
Come on, spectacular spider-man was the best comic book cartoon to date, top it with this
doccaliban
doccaliban - 10/7/2010, 4:31 PM
Yes comicb00k guy, absolutely right! The 11th thru the 15th are all the micro episodes shown 4 per day 5 days to lead into the 2 part premiere on the 20th. The Cap episodes have been fantastic! This has the potential to be the best animated series from Marvel thus far! People need to stfu about the animation style! Just look at the story content, and if u still don't like it then don't watch the damn thing! Btw,what the hell does Grif like, anything? I think he just likes to bitch!

@Paulley

Are you suggesting that the mini episodes we've seen are all of season 1? Cuz if so, where do the AVENGERS come in?
Englishboy
Englishboy - 10/7/2010, 5:15 PM
wow, just wow. As a huge cap fan, i am sooo damn pleased they kept the whole buck and cap duel "death". they set it up for a possible winter soldier story line. Please oh god please end CA:TFA the same way, i wanna see buck sometime in the future Avengers movies either as WS or something else....none of this "old" bucky ultimates crap
Sephiroth
Sephiroth - 10/7/2010, 5:24 PM
These micro episodes are just that....micro episodes. They lead into the season premiere and will not be part of the season but they do explain how everybody got to the point there at before becoming Avengers. I hope they include these micro episodes in the season one dvd. This episode was the best so far imo. Now bring on Black Panther!
Paulley
Paulley - 10/7/2010, 5:40 PM

I love most of the marvel shorts for the Avengers, but the only gripe I've have is that I can't buy into the fact they used a version of the marvel ulimates Nick Fury as the animated Fury... the guy looks too "clean" to be a grizzled, almost burnt-out war vet. The voice doesn't sound halfway as menacing... I've always imagined a Clint Eastwood-like Dirty Harry whenever I read his lines in the comics in the main MU. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not racist in saying that I prefer the original Nick Fury better as I grew up with him and he fits the "role" more than the Samuel L Jackson-inspired one... I've always thought the SLJ Fury as something more of a CIA-type spook than a die-hard combat S.O.B. war vet.

im not arguing, im just going by what i have seen written.

If you guys are right, which i hope you are, then someone needs to edit the wiki article to reflect that cus at the moment it doesnt read like that.

As for Bucky death i hope they dont do it anyway like this episode.. .. i want the classic V2 style rocket bomb..

comicb00kguy - 10/8/2010, 8:20 AM
Paulley and Doccaliban: happy to have something right! Thanks for confirming that my memory still works on some things. I know that next week's TV Guide shows The Avengers running at 7:38 every night Monday thru Friday next week, with several back-to-back episodes running next Saturday. Presumably, these are the collections of micros that Paulley was describing. I'd like to see these assembled as "complete" episodes and to be able to tape and save them.

Englishboy: Agreed about the possibility of the "Winter Soldier". That would be awesome if they pace it right. It needs to be something that develops over several episodes before he actually confronts Cap.
