WWE And Warner Bros. Set Animated FLINTSTONES Movie For 2015
With a voice cast including WWE superstars like CM Punk and John Cena, 2015 will see the release of a direct-to-home video Flintstones animated feature from WWE Studios and Warner Bros. Hit the jump for details on this rather intriguing sounding project!
Variety reports that WWE Studios and Warner Bros. are set to co-produce an animated Flintstones feature which will be released direct-to-DVD (and presumably Blu-ray) at some point in 2015. It will feature the likes of Vince McMahon, John Cena, CM Punk and other WWE superstars playing Flintstone-ized versions of themselves - Vince McMagma, John Cenastone and CM Punkrock are the examples given by the site - as Fred and Barney attend their first WWE live event. It certainly is a rather unique idea and is not the first pairing between the two studios after it was recently revealed that a new Scooby Doo movie will be released (once again featuring WWE talent) ahead of next year's Wrestlemania. "WWE is family-friendly entertainment, so partnering with Warner Bros. on a Flintstones-WWE project was a natural extension of our ‘Scooby-Doo’ deal," said Michael Luisi, president, WWE Studios. "This new, animated feature allows us to showcase our brand with young fans and loyal Flintstones enthusiasts alike."
