When it was first announced, the entire concept of a
Detective Pikachu movie was ridiculed by Pokemon fans. Understandably, they wanted to see the likes of Ash, Misty, and Brock brought to a live-action setting, but as soon as the first trailer landed, the excitement for the Ryan Reynolds led release amped up considerably and box office projections are high.
As you might expect,
Detective Pikachu has been pegged to be a massive hit in China and a series of posters have now been released which put the spotlight on the titular character along with Psyduck, Bulbasaur, Charizard, Jigglypuff, and Mr. Mime.
It's nothing short of incredible seeing these Pokemon brought to life in live-action, and Legendary Pictures has done a mind-blowing job of introducing the iconic video game creatures to a real-world setting. You have to believe that merchandise sales will be massive for this one, and that bodes well for the chances of a sequel, not to mention various other spinoffs.
