ANT-MAN Star Hints That We May Not Have Seen The Last Of 'Mitchell Carson' In The MCU

Martin Donovan had a larger role in Ant-Man than pretty much any of us expected, and it sounds like we haven't seen the last of Mitchell Carson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Hit the jump to check out his comments, along with a new TV spot for the movie...

Shortly before Ant-Man was released, it was revealed that Martin Donovan was playing Mitchell Carson in the Marvel movie. Comic book readers will know that character as an enemy of the Eric O'Grady version of Ant-Man, and many of us ended up speculating that he might end up being a bad guy in a possible sequel. Well, he was a villain in this first instalment as it turned out, and when we last saw Carson he was making off with some of Yellowjacket's shrinking serum. We know he's seemingly involved with the new version of HYDRA (led by Grant Ward), so will we see him again?

"I'm supposed to be vague!" the actor told Comic Book Resources. "I've been told to be vague! But vaguely: he's in the Marvel Universe, and we'll see." Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems like a safe bet for his return, but we'll have to wait and see. It could be that Marvel has something in store for him in Ant-Man 2, but as that movie hasn't been announce yet, it's hard to say! When asked what he likes most about playing this character, Donovan added: "He's kind of a stealth character. He's kind of in the background. He kind of moves around in the shadows, and I always kind of liked that aspect." Where would you guys like to see him show up next? As always, let us know below!

He's got a vile of the yellowjacket particles. HYDRA may be utilizing said particles soon I'm guessing

His character was a jerk. Well played! Was happy when Hank bloodied his nose. Hope we see him again.

Seems a likely villian for AoS - figured as much when he was first introduced as a hydra confederate.

I have four comments...

1.) I enjoyed Ant-Man more than I thought. Some wooden acting here and there and of course the jokes that fall flat but overall for the tone of the film I didn't find these things too conflicting. That finale fight was very different and totally filled with fun. Rudd came off as odd fir me in the beginning but when he's doing his Ant-Man thing I'm with him all the way. Solid 8/10 for me.

2.) I loved the Quantum Realm sequence. As others have stated, it DOES make you think about the possibilities of the F4 joining or being rebooted within the MCU. The score in that scene made it even more impactful.

3.) Mitchell Carson still has a Yellow Jacket suit right? Hmm...

4.) I'd be up for an Ant-Man tv series following Hank Pym's younger years as the hero. That or a prequel. As for sequels? Eh, I think he may end up like Hulk and just appear in other films but they'll really need to map it out qualitatively to gain my full interest.

Nonetheless, had a great time.

I knowwww right? Kinda wish no one teased it here on the site. If I never knew about it I would've truly freaked out but I knew it was coming but I totally didn't know how it would've been orchestrated into the script. I think we're easily one step closer towards Doctor Strange.

maybe we'll see him in Civil War. He bought the plans to the yellowjacket suit but has no pym particles. He could sell it to Stark as an Iron Spider.

Cross could be dead. He didn't shrink in a controlled way. His limbs were withering away.

Maybe half of his face will get disfigured in "Civil War."

@AlexanderLykins

Yes, Darren is lost and trap.

Mitchell Carson will have something to do in Civil War, maybe he will be the nemesis of Scott Lang in that movie and one of the motives of the Avengers calling him in.

@typicalfanboyh: He isn't probably dead, probably lost in the Quantum realm. But you hate the movie, so why care?

Well if Strucker was killed after 2 mins of screen time I don't have high hopes for this guy in his next film.
