Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quatumania is shaping up to be a much bigger movie than its predecessors, with Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror set to take on Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Hank Pym, and Janet Van Dyne. However, it now appears he won't be the threequel's only villain, as a new rumour suggests M.O.D.O.K. will also have a "major role" in the movie.
This is far from the first time we've heard claims about this character showing up in the third chapter of the Ant-Man franchise, though we certainly didn't expect him to play a leading part in the proceedings.
It's going to be interesting to see how director Peyton Reed juggles both Kang and M.O.D.O.K., and we'd be willing to put money on the latter being outed as Sonny Burch's mysterious "Benefactor." It's about time A.I.M. makes a comeback after being introduced in Iron Man 3, though your guess is as good as ours when it comes to how Kang will factor into things.
There had been rumblings that Sonic the Hedgehog star Jim Carrey might bring M.O.D.O.K. to life, but apparently, that's not the case after all. Now, we have no idea who will portray the villain (or if this report should be trusted). Either way, it comes on the heels of another interesting cameo rumour earlier today.
It was also just a few days ago that we got our possible first look at Majors suited up as Kang (you can check that image out here).
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released on July 28, 2023.
